Welp. It's finally happening....

pulled it from storage today after ~ 5 years of sitting... Last time we worked on this I was just dating my now wife, I had just re-started college to begin my (now complete) undergrad degree program, and I was wide-eyed and bushy tailed....

We've already begun dropping the fluids. I admit I'm not as excited as I should be. I'm not sure what's wrong with it, yet (I presume a spun main bearing) so I'm just not sure what to expect.

Luckily this time we have a lift.

Next up is dumping the PS fluid and pulling the front bumper.

Indeed. I wish I would have started sooner.... We're losing the shop in April, which is why we're doing this shit now -- hell or high-water.

The story behind the shop: My uncle and his car buddies all chip in a couple hundred bux a month towards rent ($1,300). In May their lease is up and the landlords are raising the rent to $6,000/month.

Here's how we left it last:

Here's the progress since then:
Started disconnecting stuff. Intake plumbing, wiring harnesses, hoses...

Pulled the x pipe:

Wheels and some front suspension:

Front bumper:

Here's what's hiding behind my "front-mount heat exchanger":

What we've got here is a PS line cooler as well as a fuel cooler. Mounted plumb-dead-center is the FPR.

We're going to separate these up because we're concerned that the PS may be heating up the fuel during it's return process. Additionally, our bracket broke a hole in the front-mount.... so we're looking at getting that repaired.


Here's the set-up with the FMIC in... you can see its pushed right against it.....

Another thing added to the to-do list:
Fuel line getting pinched between the diffy and the spare-tire bubble....

Here's how we left it.... Hopefully the engine is out tomorrow. :-D

no joke.... it's a motorcycle stand... its electric powered.... all we had to do was press a button. LOL. we put it on top of a push-cart.... this shit is like a cake walk. I'm in no rush to get it on a stand.... "oh, this is in the way? we'll put it in the corner. oh, want to see how well these headers fit? we'll lift it up. want to save storage space? store it under the car."
