ok so im running an edelbrock mechanichal fuel pump on my 306 and the fuel pressure guage fluctuates like every 2 minutes itll go to the normal 4-5 psi mark then flutter down to zero, this one really has me stumped, im used to my late [dead] holly blue electric fp, any help would be muuuch appreciated!!

does the guage still fluctuate when the engine comes off idle?
It might just be the needle valve opening to refill the float bowl. just a guess
Do you have any problems while running and driving or just issues with the guage?

yah when it goes to zero i try to rev it and it boggs bad, which scares me cause i know im probable running it lean when it does that, i installed a new pump, still same thing, its getting beyond me=/ im thinking when i got the car it was already swapped to carb and the guy did something wrong with the plumbing at the tank maybe. idk ill drop the tank and see maybe, what do you typicaly do to the stock tank when switching to carburated?

edelbrock has a internal regulator and should be at 6-7 psi. you need to check how it is run from the tank first, also have you swapped the filter out? has one correct?

yah it has a filter, im thinking i just need to see how the prev owner tried to make the fuel tank work, im about to say eff it, its no a dd so i might just do away with the tank and go fuel cell! ive had it i just want to have fun with my pony again...so edelbrock carbs are internally regulated? ive always heard they dont like more than 5psi, and hollys run at 6 or 7psi?

yup they are hard set unless you get one of the racing ones. you can check on edelbrocks site for the manual if you want. i have a edelbrock fuel pump on the 66 and its rock solid 6-7
