Hi im just finally back to stang world, own a 98 gt 5 speed few year back, and move to camaro and own 4 of them, now im back to stang world again, it good to go back.

Im doing maintaince to the car now, I have few question. car is mainly weekent drive, no racing, it have full intake and header to full exhault system

Oil weight recomemnt , car is around 140k miles, do leak a little, but no oil burn

It automatic tranmission, how hard to change oil the tranmission fluid, and what kind of fluid ? ( dex/mercon )

rear diff gear oil, what weight is recomment ( 80w90 valvoline durablend with ford lsd addictive ? ), can I use synthetic on these rear end ? I like redline 75w90, btw is 95 gt and 98 gt different on differential ? or it the same ?

what other recomment thing do you guy recomment to do while im on doing maintaince stuff ? thanks

Recommended :

replace distributor and coil
spark plugs and wires
change the oil
have alignment checked
(check coolant level be sure some chump didn't pour too much water in there)
replace thermostat
(I'd replace the coolant temp sensor the one in there is probably 16 years old)
check suspension parts....(swaybar bushings, sway bar end links)
Change fuel filter

enjoy

LOL I added a few things to that list

As far as things like fuel filter, coolant temp sensors, thermostats, BWD brand is your best bet purchased at advance auto parts

spark plug wires - Accel or MSD
spark plugs - motorcraft
distributor - MSD
coil - MSD or Accel
oil- I personally choose Castrol GTX with Purlator filter
any suspension parts like ball joint ect. - MOOG and MaximumMotorsports.com is your best bet

For the best price on a distribuor or coil visit cjponyparts.com or americanmuscle.com

I use regular valvoline power steeing fluid from advance auto parts...

as far as gear oil the only brand I've ever used is 75w90 Royal Purple also sold at advance auto but it is 16.99 here http://www.americanmuscle.com/royal-purple-max-gear-75w90-gear-oil.html

The free shipping is quick, I've never waited more than 3 days

Edit:

use mercon V for the ps fluid it's what the car calls for

My new rack and pinion came prefilled with normal powersteering fuild so thats what I continued to use

Normal PS fluid is not going to hurt it by the way

I havent do this yet, but I want drain the atf out off torque converter , I read and every one say their a hole with a plug on TC, but no one say how to turn the engine til you see the plug. How do you turn the engine til you see the plug ( keep turn on the car and turn off the car til see the plug ? ) and im plan using castrol mercon V, cause I my tranmission having that famous TC shudder i read about last night.

Stock thermostat temp is 190....a 180 would be fine. dont put a 160 it'll wear out faster

Theres no way really to drain all the old fluid out of the converter.....One way is to drop the transmission and take the converter off.....Honestly all you really need is to drain the transmisson pan and refill with new fluid. You can have the fluid pumped which would get most of it out of the torque converter, again, it's not going to remove all of the fluid

If the old fluid looks really bad then you might be needing a new transmission or a rebuild in the near future

As far as the torque converter goes, I'd replace it but thats just me

worst case scenario is that your transmission is on it's way out now

LOL I'd hope she doesn't cost anything and if she did you'd have the dignity to not buy her. And she had the self respect to stop hooking.
