No tune yet. That's what i'm leaning torwards too. Gonna get an SCT, but thought i'd be able to hold off until I was done with the break in period

Chances are its the lack of tune. my car would not even run with the HP292S cams I have currently. get it tuned and I guarantee all of that will go away.

Upped the idle rpm and it drives smooth as hell now. Still gonna get a dyno tune in the next few weeks after I go through the break in period

glad to hear you got it worked out. What do you mean break in period? I always giggle when people say that because if it's gonna blow up, it's gonna blow up either way. Ive always broken my motors in on the dyno personally and have never had a failure because of it being done that way.

I've heard the same thing but being I learned it this way, it's pretty much piece of mind. I've seen guys who rebuild an engine, do a quick "warm up" break in than pedal to the floor on the dyno or down a track.

Quick question though. I was just kind of going through the options of the tuner, noticed it had a max rev option. Could this be used as a launch control? Sorry if it's a stupid question haha

Haha no it can't, max rev is basically the rev limiter. If you set it low you'd be hitting the limiter at whatever you set it at lol.

Little status update. Got about 250 miles on the car and not a single issue.. well 1 minor one but I think it's unrelated to the build. Also went ahead and did the IAC restrictor mod since my rpms had a habit of hanging. Cleaned that up real quick with less than a $1 spent and about 2minutes of my time.

Anyhow, the unrelated issue is that at idle the oil pressure gauge dies. needle drops down as if the cars off, but the slightest nudge on the throttle and it comes back to life. Doesn't matter what the set rpm at idle is. Was reading that the stock senders are pretty much junk and i'm better of getting an aftermarket one for a proper reading. No ticking or anything from the motor so I know it has oil pressure

stock oil pressure gauge is a dummy gauge. I'd replace it IMO.

oil pressure sender on the oil adapter assembly. its a dummy gauge as stated. an aftermarket gauge works wonderfully.

Really appreciate the help guys. It's been buging me a tad, but thanks for clearing it up for me. I have intentions of getting an autometer sometime shortly

if you get a oil gauge, get an electical piece. the teflon tubing holds air from time to time even after priming.

Indend to. Don't really care for the idea of in the event of a failure in the line or gauge I now have hot ass oil all over the interior. I had great luck with my old Cobalt autometer and will more than likely be the same route I go again.

Hit the 290 mark I was going for. Now only drawback is Autoclubspeedway is shut down, so I only have an 1/8th mile track in SD :(

Hey MadStang, going to Barona tomorrow? If so, i'll see ya there haha
