No, that's just the car. If I add myself (175 lbs), I'm just a tick under 3500 lbs. I've done the math, and considering that I can run a full session on just quarter tank without starvation, I could drop another 60 lbs, making the car 3240 lbs in race trim. I am only just getting started with weight reduction. My goal is to around 3000 lbs with me in it, that way I could be on the more competitive side of TT2.

TT2 is a lot to chew for a SN, to be competitive anyway.

On the weight side, in CMC the SN needs to be 3150 coming off the track with driver in the car. I've had my 94 as low as 3080, when I 1st built it. That's race trim with no ballast (cage, fire system, wheels/tires, etc). So you guys can get them down quite a bit. CMC rules prevent us from doing any super custom stuff, but if you have a tubular k-member/flca, aluminum heads, stripped interior, minimum wiring harness, and remove the dash skeleton that's a lot of weight. Then use light weight rotors, wheels, gut your doors, lexan, you can easily go under 3000 with just the car.

Rich, I'm not really looking forward to dominating anything, I just want to enter that class, because that's where the asshole who build my motor runs. I wanna make sure he doesn't win anything ever again.

More weight reduction, and prepping for the full cage.

I didn't post it here much, but getting the motor to run right was a huge pain in the ass. The builder gave the car back to me with a lot of issues, some of which included but were not limited to incomplete tune, leaking fluids, header gasket blowing out, camshaft gear grinding off, torque specs being all over the place. Every time I'd bring the car back for something to get fix, more issues would arise afterwards. Basically, the motor was built like crap, wasn't reliable, wasn't running right, didn't make the power on dyno, and leaked oil from both ends, and rocker stud broke. Oh and here is the best part: every time something broke during disassembly and reassembly, I got charged. If something didn't fit right, the builder would spend a lot of time and money trying to get it to fit, rather than just consult with me how to approach this next. For example, some of the bullshit charges were, driving the block to and front machine shop, spending 400 dollars trying to fit a harmonic balancer, the list goes on and on. The builder seemed to be very proud of how clean the engine bay was, yet completely overlooked everything else that really mattered. Hell is gonna freeze over before I go back to that shop.

The shop is Wild Pony Motorsports. If anyone lives in Los Angeles and is thinking of using that shop, I'd highly suggest to reconsider.

Dang man I'm really sorry to hear about that. Thanks for clearing it up though. I definitely understand wanting to eat him alive now.

So I am assuming now a more reputable shop get everything together correctly?

I'm working with a couple. One of them did the tune, and some of the other stuff, Addiction Motorsports. Very happy with the way the tune came out, the tuner is very smart, which is a great plus. Got the car tuned in 2 hours better than the first numb nuts in 4 hours.

The second shop does all the mechanical stuff, and pretty much looks after my car in between track days. Clean work, and stands by his labor. The second shop is Gear Driven Automotive. Working on getting sponsorship from him, if possible.

A bit of an update. I've decided to try running in Global Time Attack next year. There are some seriously fast cars and drivers in there, so who better to compete against. After reviewing the rule book a bit, it seems like I'm pretty well off the pace at this point, but the good news is, I have a lot to improve, so I could be fairly competitive in Limited RWD. The one thing that was kinda stopping me was that the rules don't allow modification of suspension pick up points, which excludes torque arm setup. They did have a rule in there about IRS swaps (primarily to accommodate the mustangs), so I decided to petition for a rule change, and sure enough, the rules were updated, making torque arm legal in GTA Limited RWD.

Live axles may be replaced by IRS and vice versa using OEM or equivalent upgraded components from another vehicle mounted as close to OEM designed geometry of the donor car as possible. 4 link may be replaced by panhard bar and torque arm on live (solid) axle vehicles. (Rules Updated January 8, 2016) Donor parts must come from a GTA eligible vehicle.

I'll push the aero to the limits of the class. I'm really really afraid of making the car "ugly" as long as it's functional. It will start off pretty tame though (splitter, wing, diffuser).
