^true, I respect anyone (like ReplicaR) who can get our crappy suspensions to out handle most imports on the road course. Not saying he's the only one, but I remember his car the easiest lol.

I have a dedicated road course car that handles like a mo-fo toooo but replicaR definitely knows more about suspension and has a better set-up than I do haha I gain more knowledge every day.

Ok, since we are off on a tangent. I am going to go back to the first post where it says these v6's are easily capable of 650+ horse.

To my knowledge only one 650 horse v6 mustang exists, and its GT Eater on v6power.net haha

Just food for thought :)

they're very much capable of more now IMO. had I stay in the game I would've boosted mine with a procharger I had and throw e85 at it and watch the numbers fly high lol

man this thread turned into a mess in a hurry. I'm still having trouble getting past the not getting a V8 because they're too common approach.

I know.. to bad theres like 3 v6 Mustangs to every GT/Cobra Mustang, WITCH MEANS its harder to find a nice one thats not all riced out and gay.

There are actually a handful of V6 pushrods over the 600 rwhp mark now, and 400-500 is -dare I say- getting "common". Some aren't forum type people, but they are talked about. Gary (GT Eater) is on, Matt Neuharth was the first in his single port auto car, Jerome ("J"- with a red Roush drop top) was on his way to 850 flywheel with his TT set up last time I talked to him. There are a few T and TT set ups pushing the big numbers. There are a couple of 400-500 M112's running around. There was a Whippled Super Coupe runnning around (same 3.8L V6), but he sold off the blower set up.

I stand corrected. But note that the list wasn't that big. He made it seem common place for 650 horse v6's haha

RIght now 165 rwhp/200rwtq. LOL - I sold my built/blown 4.2L motor and replaced it with a low mile stock 3.8L so I could sell it. I saw little to no buyer interest in the car with the big boy motor and full tubular suspension... so I took it back closer to 'stock Roush' to aide in the sale. I've had several set ups over the years (3.8 and 4.2L - N/A, nitrous and supercharged) ranging from mid 300 to mid 500 hp.

Yeah, it's short compared to the big number V8 cars... but we've yet to see a cracked stock block or anyone break a stock 3.8L or 4.2L crank because of hp limits. Says a lot for the little guys. Also, being able to take double the factory hp on a stock motorwith boost and a fuel system is something most V8s can only dream of. If Ford took the abilities of the V6 and melded them into the size of the V8 - you'd have a killer engine for all types of applications.

So with a basically stock set of internals (not OEM but OEM spec, .30 over) I could run boost? How many pounds do you think.

Sorry for eating your knowledge :)

The accepted 'safe' point on a stock bottom end is somewhere between 350 and 400 @ wheels. There are a few that have been well into the 400s, but general concensus is they are on borrowed time. It's all in the tune once you get past 350. Justin from VMP was running 10s and around 420 with just fuel and boost into a stock motor.
For an off the shelf blower kit, I'm a big fan of the Pro Charger set up for the V6. It will really wake up the car, and still be very safe for a stock or basically stock motor.

4.2L made 247/256. I ran a big NX wet shot on top of that for awhile before working out the kinks in the M112. Made low 500s with a 2.8" blower pulley and 10% overdrive crank pulley. I lifted a head off the block before I got a good dyno with blower and nitrous together. (I was being stupid, and I admit it.)

I don't actually drive it anymore, other than firing it up and driving around the block to keep everything working. When I bought the '98 it took over most of my driving duty ( and my better half drives the modded Explorer Sport). With a daughter now, the whole no A/C, no backseat, no sound deadening material and loud exhaust makes the white car makes it less than ideal. LOL

I'll be honest, I've driven a lot of different Mutangs with hp all over the board. My '98 makes mid 300s and I love it. For me, it's the perfect amount. I can't see myself doing anything super crazy to it power-wise.
