russell stainless lines

I am not a member at the coral but I got the part numbers off of there and made my order. Now I have the pieces and I am trying to get the hose/line onto these fittings and I must be missing something. Tried lubing them up and twisting them on but all it did was break the rubber tubing on one side.... What am I doing wrong?

forget it, figured out that I missed the hose ends in the order#'s when I ordered the parts. That makes much more sence.
