like i said, right now i need street tires that can grip but aren't terrible in the rain... anyone know of any in a 295 or 305 35/18 for fairly inexpensive?

Your asking the impossible. You wont find a cheap tire that grips well and handles good in the rain. Nitto DR's are great street tires but are not good in the rain. You can go w/ an actual street tire that grips awesome but is still not that great at the track b/c it is a street tire like the BF Goodrich KDW's or Good Year Eagle F1's but they are expensive, especially in the size you want

I got my 555R's from Steeda for $142 each (275/40/17) - that was cheaper than any other place. Shop around you'll find good prices on eBay too.

cheap is under $375-400 a tire... not impossible, but not easy

again, this is a daily driver during summer

That was a 275 of course they are cheaper. Bigger the tire = more the cost considering he was asking about 295's. Steeda does not offer a 295 Nitto according to their website anyyway

yes, and i need an 18 inch tire, not a 17, theres a huge jump in price........

how many miles should the 555's last?

actually, i found a few places selling them for less but that isnt a bad price at all... to bad they only offer a 285

My NT555R's are just fine in the rain as long as you don't drive like an ass..which you shouldn't be anyways.

my first set of hoosiers where around $170 each, drove on em 5-6 months straight everyday rain or shine, this past summer when i got new rims i got new hoosiers to fit, but still drove on the first pair for 2-3 months

well either street or strip i would fix that traction problem def get the 555r the actually last a pretty long while i dragged on mine almost everyweek and let me tell you it amazing coming of the line a 3grand and just stickin!whooo!
