i doubt you'd drop 50-60 pounds from removing the a/c unless you removed the unit from behind the dash. But they you have no heater, no defrost, etc. which becomes a huge pain in the ass... i've been there done that, and would only do that to a car i pretty much only go to the track with. even then, i don't think i'd remove the unit behind the dash.

Do a door delete. Trunk delete. Maybe even a hood delete. Do like a jeep style hinge setup so when you get to the track you can just pop the doors off LOL... Pull the hood off, pull the decklid off. You'd drop like 300lbs.

Pull the motor and trans. That's SERIOUS weight reduction. And all the glass. And the axle.

lol, wtf is going on in this thread.

I asked about removing things that people remove all the time.

Rear seat delete and possible AC delete.

These are probably a few of the most common things removed from our cars.

hahahahahah

handz told me his car would beat mine out of da corna cause he gots da 0 free cobra wheels

On some real shit, wtf are you talkin about handz?

I make twice as much power as you....what on earth makes you think your car would come harder out of ANY corner than my car with twice the power?

I can hold any gear in this corner and instantly be pulling out of the corner with 400 ft lb of torque, no matter what speed im at.

Do you have the cobra/mach brake upgrade Handz?

Another bad part of removing AC is you lose the defrost/defog option of the windshield. Most people don't realize when you turn that on the AC is used so it blows dry air on the windshield.

Although you've probably been convinced otherwise by now, I wouldn't gut it.

The best way to get out sound deadening is a blowtorch and a scraper. Some people swear by dry ice, but that shit just left dents in my trunk. I lost about 10 pounds by removing the tar from the trunk and the rear seats. It's loud back there.

I removed the rear seat brace by cutting it out, although it was never going to go back to a full interior after the cage anyway. That saved about 5 pounds. I have a few ideas for a more utilitarian interior, but I drive the car once a month maybe, now that the season has kicked up.
