If you must, start with 1/2 coil at a time. Always cut from the top and be sure to cut the same amount on each side

I'm running cut stockers. 2 coils in front and 1.5 in the back. Tony used to run cut H&Rs that I'm trying to get from him. They looked sweet.

How low does that get you? Pic? Hows the ride?

Warning : TO MUCH AWESOME

The ride pretty much sucks over anything that isn't smooth. I didn't measure before and after but here is a pic.

Nothing wrong with cut springs. This was my car with Sportlines in the front and 3.5 coils cut off stock springs in the rear.

And here's my buddy's car. 2 coils cut all around IIRC.

i say if the spring is linear then cut it off the bottom, if it's progressive/has dead coils at the top then cut those.

how dare you ask such a question! cutting springs is terrible.

lol! i cut my stock springs about 3 coils at one point hahaaa! ran qa1 adjustable shock. rode pretty good tbh. just scraped my kmemeber all over the place. then i lifted back up with h&r ss springs and cut about 1.5 coils all around. that rode great! you can cut away some coils with no real issues and if you want to get pretty low just run a nice adjustable shock with good tunability. rebound and compression is what makes all the difference in lowered cars no matter how ya run springs...cut or aftermarket lowering springs.

Cut springs are fine, mustangs use a linear spring rate rather that a progressive like alot of others. I run half a coil cut off the back to fit my 28x12.50 mickeys without cutting/rubbing issues. As state before cut from the top as the pigtail ends on the bottom keep the spring on the LCA in the back. Its been proven a few times that stock springs cut provide the best option of rear spring for a drag orientated car with stock style rear suspension, if you call Dave Zimmerman at Team Z motorsports he will tell ya the same thing.

If you must, begin with half coils at some point. Always cut from the top and be sure to cut the same quantity on each part .

I cut my springs last night and somehow it gave me a 3 inch lift. So I put the sportlines back in and everything was fine
