Well after doing some racing this weekend with my car im ready to go faster. Only have 85k miles so gonna keep stock bottom end for now.

Shooting to have a mid to low 12 sec car if attainable. Already have bolt ons, 3.73s, full exhaust, uppers/lowers.

Here is my brainstorm:

Heads- AFR 185's
Cam-AFM N-412
1.6 RR
Intake- Have cobra Intake currently, suggestions??
24lb injectors

The 185's will leave me room to grow into them. Plans to do a 331 stroker later in the future .

How close will i be to attaining my goal? Any and all tips and suggestions on different part choices are greatly appreciated! New to trying to build and plan a motor.

That sounds like a good plan.. As far as the cobra intake goes, you could always just have it ported.. They can go quite a ways when opened up.
It depends on how much you want to spend now, if you plan on doing the 331 later.. A ported cobra intake might be slightly small for a 331,
but for a HCI 302, it should work fine.

i agree with slow95fiveoh, if you are planning a 331, go ahead and get a better intake (i like the holley systemax) if you have the money. you will probably want a dyno tune to go with the swap also...so figure that money in too.

also, for getting low 12s, your going to want to do some suspension mods to help you off the line better. then some weight savings and you'll be there in no time!

ive seen a 331 with those exact heads going 11 teens on motor. your going to need a custom camshaft from either bullet or camshaft innovations. a downs upper and ported HO lower would work, but he was running a tfs box R and 90mm tb. 4.10s and a good tire and your on your way.

When you step up to a 331. Which is what i have pretty much decided on. You might have to step up to 30# just to be on the safe side.
