I would say you were arguing to make a point of "Don't go down ever"

But to each his own. I find vehicles to be much less prone to hydroplane, and easier to manage for normal street driving on thinner tires.

For a track setup, 275+ all around is more desirable because of the added grip.

For looks only, the fat tires are good too. I have 315s on my car that I know do nothing more than slow me down and look good.

But they slow you down so you can look good longer. Therefore win. Lol

Ok I think I'm gonna go with a 285/40/17 tire . It will fit the rim better and I got thinking I have 3" exhaust pipes too. So thinking this be a. Better way to go . How are Nitto 555's ? Good tires and who else makes that size? If you have them please post pics.

285/40-17 is kind of an oddball size. And they are more expensive than a 275/40-17 ($40 using the Cont. Extreme Sport comparing 275 and 285). Also the 275/40-17, depending on manufacturer, should be about the same height as the stock 17 (245/45-17). But that is just me. I would suggest the 555 G2 over the 555 from what I have heard. I had the 555's and thought they were atrocious compared to my Bridgestone RE760s which I don't think are super great, just a good tire.

Tires are all about what you want to use them for. The 555 is a pretty good all around tire. As noted the 285 is a more uncommon size. It's better to stick with a more common size to keep the cost down.

I wouldn't worry about the 275's in front at all I am lowered 1.5" & have no issues turning in front ...they LOOK so darned good & beefy I can't not have them! Same for the 315's rear...I flipped my quad shocks but next time I pull the tires I plan on just throwing them away...don't need them. I have a 2.5" Catback & midpipe with no problems either never tried a 3" set up however...
