Ok but why have JUST a racecar when you could have both with just a seperate key...?

I'm pretty sure Ford can't legally sell the car from the factory with the track tune because of emissions etc. This way "we" have access to the car without having to go get it tuned ourselves. As for pure race cars not having different tunes.. the 1.3ish million dollar Veyron has a special key etc.

Its a pretty cool thing and a first for any Mustang! I'm sure there are more reasons for it.

Theres a reason. You hand out a key to the car that is extremely fast and dangerous in the hands of the wrong person, you need to cover your ass. You detune it, and let them make the call to use that tune, therefore releasing yourself of all legality if they go and mess the car up. I'm sure there will be someone who uses that tunes, fucks the car up, and wants ford to fix it. They will look at when and what was going on when it was blown, and probably tell them they are a dumbass running it 7500 rpm's going to work in 110 degree weather.
