Looking good Trey, but HOLY OLD FASHIONED TORQUE WRENCH BATMAN!
haha matt, i loveee our new torque wrench! i like it 20x better then our preset "click" torque wrench.. idk the proper name for it but the one where you spin the handle to the desired ft/lbs and it breaks when you reach the desired torque... but i love the dial on it, so cool i think. works like a champ too! nothin wrong with some old school stuff. i have a digital tire pressure gauge i bought for like 30 bucks but i still use my grandpa's mechanical pen style tire gauge i got after he passed away.

Javi, the new headlights will come. im doing what steve-oh did to his and getting projects, 6000k HID's, painting the housings gloss black, and putting clear lenses back on so itll still have a blacked out look. and cowl for what? a cowl hood? im rocking the 98 cobra hood still, i love that hood!

Awesome work! Nice attention to detail and the motor looks really good.
Aaron, thanks man I appreciate that coming from you. I am pretty happy with how it looks. I think I need to change a few things up after seeing the engine in the bay but it still looks awesome!

but anyways, thanks everyone for the feedback. i am having a lot of fun on this rebuild. i've double checked everything after ive done it because I want this to be a flawless build. im really nervous about cranking it up because this is my first FULL rebuild.

UPDATE

July 22, 2009
Well, today was a busy day. I got up at 8:30AM central and stopped working at 9:30PM. I did run a few errands to go pick some things up and called HPP Racing to schedule a dyno session. Today, I bought all my fluids and such. Heres my shopping list:

Motor Oil - Valvoline 10w40 Non-Synthetic - 12quarts (6 for initial break in and warm up, drain, 6 for the next 500 miles or so)
Oil Filter - 2 x Motorcraft FL-820S filters
Tranny Fluid - Royal Purple Max ATF - 3 quarts
Coolant/Antifreeze - Prestone 50/50, im thinking maybe i should have gotten straight antifreeze and done a 70/30..?
Spark Plugs - NGK TR6 for break in - I will switch to NGK TR7s in a couple weeks once i put the blower on
Drain Plug - Magnetic Drain plug that I don't have to remove to drain the oil - just have to push it in and twist it
New PCV valve - im not going to run the catch can system right now, i dont like my current catch can setup

Also, today's progress - ALL INSTALLED - the entire upper intake assembly on and vacuum lines connected, complete wiring harness, fuel rails, accelerator cable assembly, coil packs, alternator, water bypass tube, drive belt, heater hoses, power steering reservoir, power steering pump, dip stick, AC compressor and lines, motor mounts with nuts torqued down to 110-120ft/lbs, driveshaft with bolts torqued down to 80-90ft/lbs, shifter, and clutch cable!

What i have left - long tube headers, hpipe, steering input shaft, EGR lines, cooling system (t-stat, rubber hoses, coolant reservoir, elec. fan), battery, CAI, wheels, hood

Nothing wrong with old school torque wrenches, they still work. But the "click type" are so much better when you are torquing down 40 head bolts in 3 steps. It just gets to be a pain to watch the needle.

UPDATE!

July 27, 2009
Well, the car has been running for 3 days! I have put probably 250 - 300 miles on her if I had to take a guess. I am loving it! TXCBRA doesn't run amazing quite yet though. I have a dyno and tune session up at HPP Racing thursday to get it running better. The IMRC delete is killing it down low, bogs and surges quite a bit and i believe the timing is being thrown off from the IMRC deletes. But, should all be fixed thursday.

She sounds very good though. I haven't burned ANY oil that I can see yet, which is awesome! normally i'd already be putting oil in.. so this is pretty awesome to not have to throw oil into her every few days. I will be getting videos probably tonight, depending on weather. I was out last night taking pictures until 2am which I will post up a few of them later on. All in all, im super happy! Anyways, heres the rest of the pics of the motor going in and what she looks like all put back together!

me running the wiring harness. when putting the wiring harness back in, its pretty self explanatory where things go based on how the wires bend and fall basically back into place. but i still like to label the harness connectors with some tape just so I am 100% sure things are in the right order. It also helps speed everything up a bit.

the fluids that I am running. Valvoline non synthetic 10w40 oil - royal purple Max ATF tranny fluid - motorcraft fl-820s filter - NGK TR6 plugs gapped at .032" - Prestone 50/50 coolant
