Yea like they said if its a good price just put it under wraps till your ready. Worst case scenario if the deal is good enough you should be able to get your money out of it and leave even.
I did this when I saw summit was runnig a deal on the trickflow twisted wedge 170s and stuck them under my bed. Now this summer I had the cash to get the rest of the crap for it(cam, pushrods, lifers, and some other crap) so I got those to complete it.
Anothe reason I would tell you to wait was from a bad lesson I got to learn. In az I came across a nice 94-95 cobra upper/lower for only $150. I did not install it immediatly because I decided to get out my dremel and gasket match the top/bottom, cleaned it up and put a fresh coat of paint on them. looked good as new and I was suprised hom much it helped it. Now flash forward 3 weeks. I was just going to leave it off but driving around one day my alt craps out on me. I take it in to get it rebuilt and it was at that point I thought well hey this would be a perfect time to put in the intake. While taking the lower off, the bolt at the very front drives side snapped. It was rusted solid and didn't even take much force to break it... Of course the it beaks off nearly flush with the head to where ther was nothign to weld to and nothing to get a grip on with plyers. I spend close to $150 on three different sets of back out bits an new drill bits to get them started. I the end there was just no way to save it and I ended up getting new heads which then led to another annoying long story about that car kickin my ass...
So basically, don't break it if you waaaa wait - ignore that
if it ain't broke don't fix it - thaaaaaaaats it...
I doubt there is much to do on port-matching with those the way they are machined but its worth a look. I think liz painted the raised letters of her intake to personalize it a bit. I was thinking that it would just look cool to sand off the powder on the letters an the brush them. IF its the black intake I think it would it would make the leters pop.
