So i have a good chance at getting the upper/lower street heat intake from trick flow. It will be going on my 99% stock 302. Will it make any difference going on there by itself. It has a 65mm throttle body attached to it currently. Its coming off a wrecked 1995 GT stock 302 going onto my 1995 GT so it comes with the elbow i believe.

You will probably loose power down low and gain a little bit up top, not really worth it if you ask me. It would be a good pick up if you plan on getting a set of aftermarket heads in the future.

Yes, i plan to get a H/C in the future, but this intake came up before anything else for a good price.

If it's a good deal I'd stash it and save up the other stuff before putting it on. No sense in tearing down the engine twice.

Yea like they said if its a good price just put it under wraps till your ready. Worst case scenario if the deal is good enough you should be able to get your money out of it and leave even.

I did this when I saw summit was runnig a deal on the trickflow twisted wedge 170s and stuck them under my bed. Now this summer I had the cash to get the rest of the crap for it(cam, pushrods, lifers, and some other crap) so I got those to complete it.

Anothe reason I would tell you to wait was from a bad lesson I got to learn. In az I came across a nice 94-95 cobra upper/lower for only $150. I did not install it immediatly because I decided to get out my dremel and gasket match the top/bottom, cleaned it up and put a fresh coat of paint on them. looked good as new and I was suprised hom much it helped it. Now flash forward 3 weeks. I was just going to leave it off but driving around one day my alt craps out on me. I take it in to get it rebuilt and it was at that point I thought well hey this would be a perfect time to put in the intake. While taking the lower off, the bolt at the very front drives side snapped. It was rusted solid and didn't even take much force to break it... Of course the it beaks off nearly flush with the head to where ther was nothign to weld to and nothing to get a grip on with plyers. I spend close to $150 on three different sets of back out bits an new drill bits to get them started. I the end there was just no way to save it and I ended up getting new heads which then led to another annoying long story about that car kickin my ass...

So basically, don't break it if you waaaa wait - ignore that
if it ain't broke don't fix it - thaaaaaaaats it...

I doubt there is much to do on port-matching with those the way they are machined but its worth a look. I think liz painted the raised letters of her intake to personalize it a bit. I was thinking that it would just look cool to sand off the powder on the letters an the brush them. IF its the black intake I think it would it would make the leters pop.

only intake I would maybe do on a stock head is a GT40 since its not grossly overmatched for the E7 heads , but it most cases just wait till you can do heads , cam and intake all at once.

Think about your goals for the future....I got a street heat intake because i thought it'd be a great upgrade from stock with stock everything else. Well then I realized that the street heat is a great over stock intake but once you want to start making power up top, the street heat starts holding you back. If you can get lucky and score a track heat I'd go that route. I got a street heat last summer, and I sold it for the RPM II because my cam makes power up to 6200.

It is worth it. You will gain about 20hp but as some as of the folks pointed out you will lose some of your low end torque. You will lose about 10 ft lbs down low but gain it all back by about 3500 rpm. Do you have future upgrade plans? Even just doing a cam upgrade will help you get full use out of this intake.
