I have a D1 in my GT and were having trouble getting the Anderson power pipe to clear the radiator hose and still drop down far enough to get the hood to close. I would love to know what filter that is on yours and where you got it from. If anything else just to get in tuned and the break-in period done.

Do you have an 8 rib setup? Do you have a blow thru setup? Do you have an aftermarket radiator? The reason I ask is that to run the filter on the D1 head you have to meter the air after the D1 (blow thru). Most low boost stock setup the MAF is before the D1 (draw thru). If you are running an 8 rib this pushes the the D1 closer to the radiator and if you have a thicker aftermarket radiator moves radiator closer to D1 head. If you have both you are left with very little room for power pipe. If you need space where upper radiator hose contacts d1 you can use a flexible stainless steel line that the old school car folks use. With that you can loop the hose under the D1 head freeing up some space plus it looks nicer than the stock hose. Maybe you could post of pic so I can see where it's not clearing.

im not sure about the flow or draw. We just sent it up to the tuner so i can't send a pic until i get it back. He's pretty backed up at the moment so I'm hoping to get it back this week or next. It is and 8 rib setup and it is a stock radiator. This is my first centrifugal system, so I'm learning as I go along.

It's not worth tuning car if you have not figured this out as any changes you make after may warrant a retune to get the most out of your setup.

Underside, this thing does not move one bit and easy to clean filter, tie wrapped excess strap.

super clean install!

Question:

What is the vent for, and where does it go?

The vent is used to let vapor out when you are filling up and let air in when your pump is running. On a stock car it's routed to a charcoal canister then back to the motor. If the vent is mounted too low or size is too small your pump will burn out . Think about sucking a 2 liter bottle you will get to a point where its real hard to suck any more. Now if you open up the end of the bottle with a hole you can SUCK as much as you want lol. Vent should be the higest point of the gas tank. Keep in mind to loop the line in a circle and mount the filter as high as possible. My filter is a bit on the big size but its a k&n that I had laying around so might as well use it. You can also install a roll over valve and keep the stock switch in the trunk that turns off pump in case of a crash.

Hes what I have. I am working on replacing the SS braided lines with blue and red fittings with black braided lines with black and silver fittings. Sorry about crappy pics but you have to have good light and a steady hand with this Iphone. Once I get engine bay complete Ill take some pics with a better camera.

On my old setup they put vent next to fuel hat which lead to several dead pumps.
