got and installed a set of sparkplug covers and some sparkplug wire looms...and still working on getting some mods for this car...

just won an auction and will be installing when it gets here A superchips tuner and iac restrictor plate.....this will be just a temp upgrade/fix untill i get a cobra manifold and a few more mods and then ille resell this sht when i can afford an Xcal custom tune...butit needs its 430 gears,cobra intake,unders,bigger injects and some better exhaust befor then so it can all be tuned into the program....

i have an auto with overdrive and a 32V....wont be too bad...my buddies 410's seem more than safe...plus i dont think ille be doing alot of traveling in this car since the wife got her self a pretty sturdy vehicle now...

ya it willprobly be 410 since they are so easy to come by....also i just got an exhaust for the car..im going to reuse my current mufflers and install a full 2.5inxpipe system that was off my cougar...my buddy traded it to me for some 24lb injectors...so today i got a tuner,exhaust,and an iac restrictor and a cobra cross over...SA WEET

I have 430s, its not as bad as people make it out to be. Now I am getting rid of them for 373s but not because it "screams" down the highway. My buddies 98 kenne bell cobra works great with his 430s but my car seems like its to much gear. From what I have learned 4v's love steep gears, 2v's not so much. BTW my current trans will not go in to 5th, at 55 in 4th I'm turning 3500 rpms.

installed my iac restrictor plate and WOW...no more idle surge, no more almost dying at stoplights and no stalling ore very low dipping rpm's qwhen i go from park to drive...what wonders that 4$ part did...man,i wonder if this woulda cured my old cougar odd idle..

pulled all my exhaust off from headers back...found its going to be a ****er of a job doing in under a jacked upfront end in a parking lot...i almost have everything set to where i can take my pipes to a buddies and have them welded together...heres where im at:

i have 3in mandrel bent coming down off of my headers with about 13in of strait pipe to piece my 2.5in old cougar exhaust system too, all i need to do is atatch the rear pipes so when i get the measuremenst for the flexpipes the rear pipes wont hit the rear diff as they go around my independant rear end...i may only need 1 flex pipe as the left side of the cougar exhaust fits in propper spot to the collecters ille call it coming off drivers side, its the passengers thats at a bit of a cock so it doesnt meet my exhaust system well...so thats where im thing of splicing in the flex pipe and just throwing a reducer onto the drivers side..and then ille have 3in coming off of my manifolds into 2.5 once it straiten out and then into and x back out into 2.5in dual and into my 2.5in thrush mufflers and out...hopefully it will sound better and perform better..

upon taking off the stock system the drivers side bolts were loose so im shur it was leaking there and the other side was shit also...the old system was just a mockup system that the dude mustan used just for time being, it even had an old pipe that was capped off that was a part of an H pipe, if hed just used decntpiping sixing all the back and had that H it woulda been nice actually...but im shur the car was just thrown together enough to get rid of..lol now i go on fixing it..

sweet...got my drivers side pipe perfectlylined up and slipped into the downpipe and the passengers side is all set for the flexpipe to be spliced and welded in...i also lazly hung my rear piping to make shur everything cleared and its fitting like a glove...so once i get a few bucks saved up ille have every thing welded up and my mufflers welded on and ille throw in new gaskets where it meets my downpipes and where the exhauts is split( its a 3 piece system, well like 7 after all my chopping)....

ud be amazed how fast i got through these pipes with my handheld hacksaw that i got for 2.50 at some garage sale ( lol still has the tag on it)...thats me, alwayas budget building...i admit it gives me alot of appreceation for the work that gets done but damn it makes it harder and take longer......when i win the lottery wether it be 10,000,000 or 10,000 my car will be done and ille be able to help out someone else in need like me.

i dont know how i became a gearhead..noone in my famliy is...although my uncle did have 2 vipers while i grew up and maby it was watching peoples faces as we cruised by them, plus that one time on a country road where he opened up that 96' softtop viper for all she had.....whoo weeee...lol and 10 years later i topped the speed of that viper on the same road in a cobalt SS ( hit 170ish)

so its turkey day and ive been up since 3am...couldnt sleep..so i wnet out and worked on my car at dawn at like 630am.....everything is in order now and have my cobra crossover installed and reading the temp guage as it should...heres some pics of whats all going on

heres a pic of the new downs i installed coming off my cobra manifold ( that i found out are ported! )..the pipe is a 3in leadinginto 2.5in pipe all the way back..the pic shows where the pipes meet the downs and where i need to weld in the flexpipe and reducer on one side and then a reducer on the other, its will need a few final cuts too but those can only be figured out once its on the lift.

the new cobra crossover is painted a gold color, it actually looks nice i think and i may follow that color on the engine...was all i ahd and it looks sweet IMO..

all surface rust thankfully, its been a wisconsin car and has lived out ina few winters im shur....when the time comes ille blast it all off and recoat the whole underbody and everything....the car is solid, or i wouldnt have brought it home...shocktowers also have NO RUST in the trunk wich is very hard to find with these cars...

but it does look kinda cool doesnt it? i thought maby my colorblindness was jewing me again or my crazy color schemes were creeping up on me again...they should make brass colored hose clamps, that would look better than the sht color it is that like to rust...
