I think that the SN95s are good all around vehicles for someone who wants a sporty car. ford has always been conservative with their engineering because the cars have to appeal and suit the whole market. Not everyone wants a lowered rocket ship (present company excluded of course). With this being said, they are easy to modify in all areas, if you want to. There is an abundance of aftermarket parts. The popularity of the Fox body brought this on. Before that we had to make most of our shit while the Camaro and Firebird guys could deck their car out with $$ alone. These are pretty good cars, yeah they have a few character defects but dont we all?

^^ I agree. I don't think Ford was focused on making a fast car to compete with the Camaro's performance, however I think they did a great job designing a sporty car that was built great while providing power to satisfy the average guy back in the 90's. People weren't focused on cars that went fast in the 90's they were starting to focus on safety and reliability and of course design, and I think thats where Ford hit the nail on the head. Granted today the 4.6 2V doesn't compete with newer vehicles but hey, they still look better than more than half of the cars out there, and they still put out an amazing sound.
The 2v may be slow but they still put out that aggressive sound and put up a good fight! How many car's today that have over 180k miles still run like a top with no CEL on. Hell not even Toyotas and Hondas could compete with that. Sure they'll last a long time but you have to constantly replace sometime small, and that small something can keep the car from driving.

there's a reason why ford crown Victoria's are/were the most popular vehicle to use in Taxi services and law enforcement. the 4.6 SOHC reliability.

I really hope and pray I can keep this car forever. It's been through my youth to my adulthood, and I want to restore/street-rod it until I can't enjoy it as much, and pass it down to future children who knows. Its crazy that in a less than decade I can be rocking classic plates lol. I also want to add how the wheel wells can stuff such a huge rim and tire like it was designed for it. A 315 tire is still not touching the edge of the rear fender despite how big it! This car FTW!

Mmmm. I drove behind a slammed 94-95 Cobra that had a ducktail spoiler. Bright red.

Thing looked soo sweet I almost crashed gawking at it!

But best things I like about them otherwise...
-very few people know they came with a 5.0. They think they are all a weak 4.6
-Almost anything you could do to a fox you could do to an SN. Hell I bolted in a fox engine harness and computer without too much sweat. Same goes for suspension, driveline, and engine stuff.
-And of course the bonded panel construction. Foxes are nice and light, but can ride and drive like a can.

I forgot maybe the most important thing in my opinion, it is a Mustang. A little different here and there, but still a Mustang. There are so many cars that are judged by there dollar value alone. I have seen clapped out Mustangs that cost more to tow away than there scrap value would be brought back to life. If a $1500 Toyota needs a $1000 motor it gets scrapped. The SN95s carry on the mustang legacy very well.

In addition to the fact that these areas where abandoned by the other of the big three. The Crown Vic was the only RWD full size for many years. The widespread use of these eng. trans. and diff. make it easier and cheaper to find parts for the like components on our cars too.

I love the sound of a Push-rod V8, but moreso of a mod motor. After riding in a newer ford I love my interior, its perfect for me. Again the range of parts we can add to our cars is pretty extensive and inexpensive. After owning a beet up v6 this clean gt I now own is kind of rare to see in my neighborhood, almost a lost model.

Idk why some of you think that the 5.0 was SO much more powerful than the 4.6. The power and torque they made was very similar if not the same. the 4.6 may have been a smaller but it was a modular motor which is where it has its advantage. Don't believe me look up the specs yourself on the 4.6 vs the 5.0 the hp and tq were the same.

Here are the specs. But it really doesnt matter.
Some people like pushrods, some people like Mods. I can appreciate both for what they are. I think I could make a 5.0 faster for cheaper, but it probably wouldn't yield the same efficiency as a mod motor.

Either way, who cares.
Its in a mustang, which is supposed to be what ties all of us together.

I do like that you don't see a lot of clean examples around which makes them pretty rare around here at least. I also like that it doesn't take much to make them look exceptionally better than stock. they are relatively cheap and easy to work on which makes them affordable fun and good all around cars. I also like that you can mix and match a lot of parts between 94-04 which allows some cool custom touches.

I believe that SN95 is a car made entirely out of impossibilities. You can't make power unless you really rev the engine, and you can't rev the engine because it's externally balanced, and even if you can make the power, T5 will certainly blow up, and if you can make power, you can't put it down through a turn, because if you try to turn, you will either hit a tree head on, or backwards, depending on which end of suspension will give up first.

And why do I love it? I don't know...

I like:

- easy to work on
- smooth operator for a daily driver
- mechanically about as complicated as a screwdriver
- cockpit-feel of interior: wraps around you just enough
- few cars past or present sound better
- the stares. You can't be an introvert when you drive one of these

Did anyone else hear Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear saying this in the back of their minds? Hilarious

I am not quite sure who you are referring to, but my previous posts have been misinterpreted. In case it is me, here you go , if not disregard. The 5.0 is not "SO" much more powerful. The Windsor family started in 1962 with a 221. Since then improvements have been made to get better performance and reliability. The culmination of this was the 5.0. Pretty much a modernized 302 with a roller cam and a 351 Windsor firing order. I like them because I have personally used them for more than thirty years in Mustangs, 4dr cars, trucks, I even had a ski boat that had one. These motors are tuff as shit. Parts are every where and CHEAP! The 4.6 is a good motor, I have one and like it. They are high tech, efficient, and so far in my experience pretty durable. I am not going to dump $10,000 into it to get it to put out 300 hp. My 40 year old (stock and restored) Harley will leave my 98 GT in the dust. When I give the 4.6 Mustang to my daughter I will get a 5.0. Not because it is "SO much more powerful than the 4.6" but because the parts for a 4.6 are too expensive. I would like to stroke and bore a 351w to about 400, fuel inject it and enjoy the shit out of it.

I love its sexy curves, the fact that there is alot parts that interchange from the earlier mustangs up to the newer sn's, and that alot of people around here dont care for this style, so it keeps me from seeing a car exactly like mine for awhile :). I dont know how anyone can't like the rear view of a 94-98 with 315s.....oh baby.
