When i was 16 my first car was a metallic dark blue 1988 toyota supra 7M-GE non-turbo. I drove the sh*t out of that car and it had over 200k miles on it. I found a 1JZA80 for sale on craigslist for $1000 and all harnesses and computer. I took over one side of my parents garage and it took me about 4 months to do the swap. I never quite ran perfect but it sure was fun as hell when i finally got it to hit peak boost (23 pounds).

Woot my 1st swap was a cousins MKIII supra as well. It was just a JDM 7MGTE for the Stock 7MGTE no difference in power but it was at the time the cheapest replacement motor lol.

1977 monte Carlo with a 2 pump setup I was 16 got a crazy rod knock till it came out the oil pan . Then I installed a 383 stroker I bought used off my dads friend hooked me up with . Took me a good while to get it running again. But I smoked way to much back then..

junior year in HS. in an advanced auto class of only 9 people, only about 6 of which did anything. my and my buddy were going to do a headgasket on a 99 saturn sl1. pulled the head and it had a god damned chunk missing out of pistion #1. ended up pulling engine and trans, 4 new pistons, timing chain, headgasket, etc. threw in a clutch while it was out. just got the head bolts torqued and the next day he gets suspended for 10 days, i end up putting it back in by myself

My first (and last) was swapping the stock Si engine (SOHC) for a ZC one (DOHC) in my '90 Civic Si. Took me a full weekend to accomplish. Little things like disconnecting the shift linkage and electrical were a pain. That was about 10 years ago or so now and it's still fresh with me. Would have been much easier if I could have found someone to do the ring job it needed. I would love to do another swap, but this time in a "classic" mustang - preferably a '66 fastback with 289.

Here's the stocker motor and the patient as it was back then - not too much different today although some minor rust set in around the wheel wells.

2.3L out of a coupe Stang to an aluminum headed 306 w/Zcam,1.7 rockers,Victor intake drilled and tapped for fogger and had plate sysetm under 750 Holley carb. Built c-4 tranny with 4000 stall and 4:30 gears out back. That car would flat out haul on 150 shot!

my stock 94GT mota for the freshly rebuilt 88GT shorblock with TFS heads, intake and cam... then the swap to the Victor Jr headed, supercharged monster thats in there.

There are tons of engine swaps in between, but those were the two for my own personal cars.

Motor swaps are fun mustangs are easy to do to. Old small block chevys are nearly a eyes closed situation at this point. Hondas are simple as hell to.

I swaped a 75k rpm eletric motor for a 120k rpm motor in a few xmods when I was like 13... but in seriousness I helped rebuild the 4.3 in my brothers s10 put an eldebrock intake manifold on to it and a intake spacer. Pulled a blown engine out of a focus and put a new one back in haven't really done anything else other then those two

Had a 96' Pontiac Grand Am as my first car and went out racing one night, we lived in a very small city where the freeway saw maybe 10 cars in an hour. On my way home my buddy and I raced down the freeway, he was driving his F150 with the 302 motor in it and I had a 2.4L Twin Cam P.O.S. motor. It was a REALLY close race but I beat him, and just continued my drive home. Woke up the next morning for school and heard a slight knock in my motor. Didn't think anything of it so I just hopped in and drove to school. Within a mile to school the motor started to struggle and died. I thought maybe it was starved for gas or the battery died. So after trying to start it for 10min I finally got it running and drove it home, just as I started coming down my street white smoke started to come out the back and she just coasted into the driveway.
Swapped the motor for the same 2.4L motor, but hey it's still a swap.
