^^^ Not exactly true. Its a pain in the ***, but you can replace it with the tank still on the car. I did. Took a while, but I did. I did have to loosen the straps a little, but not completely drop it.

props to you man. lol. i tried with it in the car and couldnt get it done... lol.

Thanks guys and for the outside correspondence Chris. I will definitely check the fill tube seal as soon as this rain stops. 4" in two days doesn't do a leaking convertible top that needs to be replaced any good! Thanks again.

hey man, no problem... keep us posted!

Hmmmm..... Mine had a really strong gas smell anytime I parked and got out... I never noticed it around yours.

If yours is torn, I'll show ya how I replaced it without dropping the tank. :)

just get on your knees, close your eyes, reach down, grab the pipe, and feel it to see if its wet. If your fingers get wet while your touching the pipe, smell it... tell us about the smell. Some people like it, others dont... some say it gives you furry palms and brain damage. rub the fluid in between your thumb and finger, whats it feel like? Fluid tends to mean that your rubber failed.... this can be a hazard. let us know what's up.

most likely the little donut looking gasket on the filler neck and the gas tank entry spot. mustangs are bad about those leaking and rotting out just like everyone else has said basically.

are your o2 sensors hooked up in the pipe?

Yes the O2 sensors are in the pipe but I don't smell any gas. I hope that it's a simple fix like this and not something engine realted. It's been raining for three days straight here and I haven't had a chance to get under the car since I don't have a garage, in case some of you were helping me with the midpipe install and remember that episode, but I do plan on checking it Saturday when the weather get's better. If this thing is leaking or rotted wouldn't I smell gas like you guys that had to replace it smelled?

Sometimes Goose Creek and Hanahan floods a little, mostly due to poor drainage. The bridge going into Hanahan (on N. Rhett) had water over it the other day...

The sun is finally out!!!! I think that it's part of another government bailout program!!!!! I will look at the filler tube in a few and let you guys know what I find. I will probably take a picture as I have no idea what I'm looking for!

Ok I've taken a picture of this thing, which doesn't look bad to me and I didn't smell any fumes but I would like "the forums" opinion on what I should do. How do I post a pic so that you guys can see what I'm looking at?

Go to imageshack.us and upload the picture to the site. After you upload he picture it will give you a direct link to the picture. Copy the link and past it between "[img.][/img]" the two brackets that are closest to each other and delete the period

Doesn't look too bad. If you plan on keeping the car i would replace it within the next few years though. Did you take the picture after the car was sitting for a while or after you've driven it. If it was sitting, take the car around the block doing some left turns then check it, if it looks or feels wet then you have a leak.

Another thought, have you checked fuel lines, fuel filter, fuel pump, pretty much fuel related. I saw you had a new fuel filter, I would double check that to make sure it's connected properly. Maybe even check the gas tank itself. Yea there's a skid plate but you never know... weird shit happens.
