i know my tach OE is off 100rpm from the dyno and last time i got it tuned, why is it off.. i dont know itso nly 14 years old lol, as far as where to place the tach, depends, soundsl ike you want to put a clock/pod of gauges, are you going to use an apillar gauge set up as well, if its a strictly drag car why dont you just take the oe cluster out and make your own with large tach/shift light, oil pressure/ a/f, and fuel pressure, and water temp??? might be the best idea if its a race car like you say

no pillar guages but i like the race clusters i thought down the road using the single 5" and (4) 2-5/8 guages for a speedo and whatever other guages i need..the car can still be driven on the road but i dont ever use it for that thats what the cobras for :thumbsup: this one is slowly evolving into the strip only car

ccasion14:i was never a big fan of huge tachs, but if its not a street car, where you'd probably just be doing it for aesthetics, then im sure its serving some sort of purpose. me personally, i like a clean look myself, so if i was to ever want/need to buy an aftermarket tach or shift light, id just buy a shift light and mount it in the AC vent.
