1999 Cobra

Kinda Thinking about trading my car in for a 99 cobra. What you guys think? Will the cobra be around the same power??

I don't know that I'd trade your car for it. Looks like you've done a lot of work to get it how you want it. I don't see starting all over. Just me though. If you want to, do it!!

Well you could look at the 99 as a blank canvas to start modding it the same way you did to your GT.

the 99 cobra ahd the recall on the intake and the exhaust manifolds. and even after the recall they still didnt make the power like they should. like the 01's do. thats why there is no 2000 cobra

buy it if you like it, you dont care tooooo much about power and arent going to race, they look good, and have a good looking front bumper for sure. Go for it!

Yeah, Im thinking about getting one because although I love my car Im kinda getting sick of all the small stuff. I actually want a newer one for the sake of less rattles ect. That and I would probably go with a SC on it. Ive always LOVED the sound of a DOHC with a KB on it.

that's not quite true, there were 2000 cobras but they were all cobra Rs.

OP: unless you found one for a good price, get a 2001 instead. Depending on the price and the car, you might be able to get a 03-04 for not too much more.

I had two buddies that have/had 99 cobra's. They're garbage. They're the Murphy's Law of Mustangs, and it's not even like they look good to make up for it.

I think the 99/01 would make a great sleeper platform. No one expects these cars to have any power and personally I like the front bumper better on them than the 03/4's.

Two within the past couple of days. One has a 03 drivetrain swap and the other a sweet turbo/auto setup. There was another turbo build last fall and he was in the 1000hp range. Like any other Mustang mod it to suit your desires.
