I've got a question, hopefully its in the right forum...well i used to have an 89 5.0 and loved the car and the motor especially. I like the body styles of the 99's, would it be possible to swap a 302 from a fox and put it in a 99? im thinking of buying a pos v6 for the body, and building the motor..any help is appreciated..thanks

anything is possible.

I would hate to have to re-wire the damn thing. Id suggest doing it for a drag-only car.... half the point of buying a 99+ is for the cruise control, and emmission, and EFI, and stuff like that... if you throw in a return-style EFI i doubt your going to be able to keep all the luxury electronics on it...

Yes it is possible. You should be able to buy a k member that has mounts for a 302 on it. Will you be keeping it fuel injected or going carb? It would be easier just to get a 94 95 that has a 302 but to each his own.....

i'll be keeping it fuel injected..my intentions are to forge the motor, replace head, intake ect..then throw a procharger on it..i just fell in love with the 5.0's when i first had one

Buy a 94-95 GT, swap in all the harnesses, steering column, cluster, K member, etc and you'll be able to make it all work like factory.

Hopefully you dont live in CA because an engine older than the car will not pass emissions. If not in CA, I say have at it. Would be pretty cool because I too like the looks of the new edges better but the 302 sounds pretty damn good when done right.

I'd find a wrecked 94-95 and buy a whole donor car and a cheap V6 New Edge. You're going to have to change out a WHOLE lot of stuff and it'd be easier with a whole other car to use for parts. But its totally possible.

What if you built a completely new motor for it?
