Alright, got a good bit of stuffs done tonight.
For starters, I wired up my horn button. This sounds trivial. Oh ho, does it sound trivial. But let me assure you, it is not. I've had an aftermarket wheel for a couple years now, and also a non-working horn button. Because no more clock spring. Well, in the process of installing my car alarm, I don't want to use a siren. I want to the alarm to use the car horn. So no choice but to figure it out. It ended up turning out pretty damn good. I created a write-up for it in case anyone else is interested:
horn write-up.
Here's some pics though in case you don't care to see the other thread:
With that done, I moved on to making all the connections for the car alarm. So far, I have the door lock/unlock wired up and the door trigger monitor wired up. I still have the parking lights and some final installing to do, and then that's that. It's turning out rather well.
Aaaaaaaand my new Motive Power Bleeder showed up today. Damn. Gotta love Amazon Prime one-day. Already I feel better about it - the old bleeder was almost impossible to attach to the master cylinder. And the hose was all rotted and stuff - I guess I didn't do a good job of taking care of it, shame on me. I'll do better on the new one. Anyway, got it hooked up. And the rears still have all the tiny bubbles. The fronts bled just fine. So I'm not sure what's going on, I need to do some thinking and research. The brake pedal feels firm-ish. So I'm wondering if maybe the ABS needs to be cycled or something. I will try bleeding a couple more times I think, and then it will be time to drive it. It'll get driven (safely) and then bled, then driven again and then bled. Also I'm going to look up in my FSM what the process is for replacing a MC. No idea why I didn't think to check this in the first place.
So lot's of progress tonight! Car alarm almost done, brakes just about done-ish, and then the door to be done. Sooo close.
