When the dyno started reading at 2000rpm my rwtq was 280 (100lbs more over any 4.6l) and climbed to 330rwqt and flat lined all the way to 5000rpm........so yea......you will love the torque. And that was npi heads with comp 274 cams. The hp though was a sad 280rwhp. I don't know of anyone with dyno results of a swapped npi 5.4l.

Stock pi heads...yes it will run slightly better, but good luck touching 300rwhp. The most hp I've seen from a stock 2v headed 5.4l swap was 317rwhp and this guy had ported heads, long tubes, all the bolt ons....etc. How ever!!!! You keep your rear gears in the 3.08-3.27 area; you will love the cars drivability torque! Idle torque to 4000rpm is down right stupid!!!! I say this and I have stock 2.73gears with dragradials. FUN FUN FUN!! Installing a n/a 2v 5.4l is really not worth it if you are looking for track times, but street fun!!!

A gear ratio of 3.55 or greater puts the engine out of its best power range and you basicly rely on an rpm range of its hp output....that equals not good. Now if you were to go 4v...totally opposite. The heads would let the engine breath! That being said, keep your rear gear to were the engines output is the greatest. In our 2v case scenario....numerically low gear ratio and learning how to drive in the lower rpm's. I'm watching your build and will be here if you have questions.

Well I know the 300rwhp at the end of the day won't be a problem as I will be doing a supercharger set up but...that's disappointing about the gears as I have 3:55 right now ill just have to wait and see how it feels.

I have another rear end with some stock gears unsure of which but I could easily swap out if I do have problems.

Trick flow heads with high compression puts the rwhp around 375. Someone supposedly touched 420rwhp but the story line was sketchy.

If your plans are to s/c later then your gears will be fine. The 2v heads are the hp limit n/a but s/c will extend the rpm range, but then again you will some find that traction will be absolutely impossible. Yes traction will be a problem!
