Grrrr...
So i head out to tromp the fun pedal for a bit and when i hop on the main road, the car feels lumpy. My butt be gettin jiggy with it! Im thinking oh dang, my rear wheels are loose. So i pull into the next open lot to examine things only to find nothing. Scratching my head, i turn this into flip mode back to the house.
Boy, my day has been ruined. Weather is great! Car sounds awesome! Gotta half tank of gas....life is good! Or so it was...
Life is still great, im very blessed!
Im home now and i jack the rearend up so that i can see underneath and move things around. Still...nothing. Everything is tight. I rubbed my hands around the tires feeling for lump/broken belts...nothing.
With the car up, in neutral, and im spinning the wheels by hand, i notice the passenger tire scrubs the pavement in one particular spot. A closer examine reveals the tire is lumpy! The tires radial belt has seperated from the side wall internally allowing the tire to be egg shaped. Although totally unable to physically feel with your hands cause its smooth. I remember a belt breaking in a tire, itll boil up a knot pretty good.
I have 2- 335/35/18 tires from a Dodge viper thats been in storage for a 6yrs now. Its time they be used!
Ill have to say goodbye to the original quad shocks and roll the fenders, but all well worth it!
