"By using a lighter weight driveshaft, you reduce its rotational mass while it is turning, freeing up horsepower, which translates to faster speeds and lower ETs. These lightweight aluminum driveshafts are just the ticket. They feature high-strength, .114 in. wall thickness, a 6061-RT62 aluminum seamless tube, and include 1330 high-performance U-joints. They weigh approximately half as much as your OEM steel shaft, but are twice as strong!"

click and you shall receive.

But how do you know the vibration is caused by the driveshaft??? Could be many things like the harmonic balancer etc. I hope you have really isolated the cause of your vibes. Good luck, I want one too.

Think about it this way.

Stock Flywheel : 25lbs
Stock Driveshaft: 22.5lbs

Fidanza Alum Flywheel : 13lbs
FRPP Alum Driveshaft : 14lbs

That's 30.5lbs i cut out of my rotational mass. It helped tremendously

i did those and a set of 3.73's and Full length subframes.

Talk about night and Day Difference

taking your stock driveshaft to a driveshaft place and having it balanced is a lot cheaper. going with lighter rotating mass also lowers inertia. changing only from a steel flywheel to a aluminum one on my car i lost a lot of et due to the car bogging real bad at the line on the track. went from consistent 1.4 60' to 1.9-2.1. even leaving the line at 7000 the car would sh1t the bed. went back to a steel and all is good again

Im curious how much power it frees up on a dyno...

Well its obvious about the weight but I think its counterintuitive in a few aspects. like what modo mentioned.

I also thought that changing to an aluminum flywheel meant you had to have your motor balanced with your mods?

All depends on what you do that weight like modo said will help you balance it all out off the line in the 1/4. If you do a lot of Auto X or track driving a Lightweight would be a better choice b/c of the responsiveness.

dont forget that when you do an aluminum driveshaft a safety loop is recommended

only if your racing at the track and are running slicks and that's for any driveshaft not just aluminum

LMR is the cheapest you can get it, they used to be $150 a few years ago then the price skyrocketed in a very short time

Lightwieght flywheels and aluminum driveshafts are very different in that aspect. Changing only the driveshaft will never have a negative affect on your et.
