any 94-95 gt times with typical bolt ons with 3.73 or 4.10s

i have 3.73 gears and i just get into 4th i could stay in 3rd but it is at 6000 rpms at the end of 1/4 mile so i usually put it into 4th gear. so you are telling me i would have to shift into 5th gear with 4.10 gears when i barely get into 4th gear now running 104mph in quarter mile

I haven't even gave my car a full highway pass yet with the new 331 motor but when I was stock I couldn't go over 100mph with the 410s in 4th. I have a speed cal and it seems like its spot on when I go past all the speed traps

it just seems kinda hard to believe that i can do 100mph in third with 3.73 gears but with 4.10 gears i couldn't but i don't know. i do know my speedometer is dead on though.

I don't know what to tell you except I know my car is spot on. I'm not gonna sit here and argue with you that your car doesn't go that fast in 3rd but with 373s that seems very high to me.

oh well, i am not trying to argue i was really just wondering why you don't like having a 4.10 gear. i am actually thinking about getting a 4.10 gear. from what i have been told and what i have rode in they are better for the track but maybe not.

When my car was mostly stock the 4.10s were fine. Now that my car has some power and torque 4.10s are useless. I can be at any rpm in 2nd gear sometimes even third and just destroy my 285s out back. I want good traction in 2nd so I am thinking about putting some 3.55s in it when I build the rear end whenever that may be. I haven't been in a ton of mustangs to compare it to but for how I want my car to drive I think the 4.10s are a bit much.

I'm running the factory 3.27's and i'm in 4th gear around the 1000' mark, are you sure you have 3.73's or maybe a very short tire? Then again my engine is also stock so i'm shifting at around 5200 MAX

its good to know I'm not the only one that thinks something didn't seem right. I'm pretty sure the only way to get an accurate speedo on a car with 373s is through speed cal? I don't know if he has speed cal. Or he doesn't have 373s.

This is what my car does with 3.27 gears I'm redlined at the top of third gear at the end of the 1/4 mile track except Im trapping at 95mph.

yes i have a speedo cal. and yes i am sure it has a 3.73 gear. thats why i was questioning him. i have stayed in third gear through 1/4 mile but it is at 6000rpms and car has nothing after 5500 rpms. so i shift at 5500. i am only in 4th gear for a little bit in quarter mile. i have played with it and get better times when i put it into 4th gear. i am running silver bullits 17x8 with nitto 255r drag radials 275/45/R17 i do have a problem launching being that i have no suspension i have to kinda ride the clutch. i set my tire pressure at 16-18psi

if any thing slight wheel spin when launching gives you alittle more mph on the big end. The rear tires your running are alitle over an inch taller than stock so that'll help to explain some of why your shifting into 4th so much later compared to others.

I'm gonna have to see what my car can do with the set of drag radials I have. I think they are 275/50/15

if you get a track that is preped and you have some suspension i don't see how you can't get a good 60 ft. i have figured out that the nitto drag radials have to be heated up good for them to stick. i am going to go with a 10in wide rim and bigger tire next time and prob go with mickey thompson street legal slicks.
