i was thinking about freeing up some space and was considering switching ta a Flaming River Manual Rack and Pinion Steering Systems for my 95GT

i wanted to know what r the pros & cons of this setup besides the obvious.

I fancy the Flaming River coupling, but dont like the idea of a manual rack for parking with.

It makes daily driving less pleasant, and will reduce the value of your car when you decide to sell it. A power steering pump and lines doesn't take up too much space anyway.

I have a flaming river kit on one of my fox body stangs. Honestly once the car is rolling you can't tell the difference between that and power steering IMO. Parking is a pain in the ass if you got wide tires on the front was my only complaint. Mine is almost strictly a drag car so not like that is much of an issue for me.

If you want to drop weight off the nose, get tubular suspension instead.

My entire front suspension for my notch, including k-member, a-arms, spindles/hubs, steering rack, steering shaft, tie rod ends, struts, coil overs w/ springs, and endlinks weighs only 126 pounds. That is a HUGE difference from stock.

I've got a set of D&D tubular A-arms for 94-98 for sale. $120 shipped. They have brand new delrin bushings too. That would save you money AND weight. :)
