Yea it is fun sometimes to get it to go through, but oyou will get it.... BTW if you can do LTs on the car with out the use of a swear jar, you can do anything else on the car.

i didn't have to drop the k member, i had to take apart the steering rack and take the starter out tho and jack the engine up ALOT, Unbolting and getting the stock manifolds out was IMO alot harder than putting the lt's in and bolting them up, mainly cause you had studs and nuts :/

Have you gotten the headers in place yet? With mac I think that the rack goes in between the tubes?

when putting the headers in place, work from the front and get them lined up first the move back, but leave them loose until you get them all in place, for the back passenger top 2 I had to lay on top of the engine and reach behind the engine with a 2 inch long wrench and make a full revolution after about 20 minutes lol

the dipstick was the biggest bitch EVER, we spent HOURS on it.

You will definitely need 2 people to get them in/ bolt them up

ok, the k member it half dropped and swung toward the front. i have about as much room as will get. i have the last 3 bolts(closest to the firewall) to get in on the LT on the driver side.(i have not got to the pass. side). right now its just kinda a fight to get the bolts to line up and go in while holding the gasket up to. but i am going to relax for a couple minutes now. does the passenger side go up easier than the drivers side? and i wish i would have lowered the K member in the first place.

I used copper RTV to hold the gaskets to the headers for easier install.... heres the ultimate question. What headerbolts are you using?

LT's are wierd for some god awful reason. make sure you use some kinda loctite or hitemp sealer on the bolts. they have a VERY VERY VERY bad habit of comin loose after a couple days. its not a guarentee that you will have issues, its just an insurance policy against leaks. just make damn sure you get those bolts good and tight. might even wanna re-tighten em after about a week

I used the supplied bolts with my headers but the back bottom 2 on both sides wouldn't fit. the bolts were too long. so we got some nylon locking ones from somewhere )i don't remember where.

and I also used the copper rtv on the gasket to headers, and let it cure overnight, then the next day put them on.

locking headers bolts are definitely not necessary and neither is loctite. If you really want to go ahead. I put mine on and then a week later tightened them back up ( they had gotten pretty loose ). it's been about 2 months now and yesterday I figured I might as well try to get them tighter, I can't even make them move at all

retightening them is mandatory.

and what midpipe did you get j/w?

Because the stock manifolds are cast iron and don't change size with heat so much.

ok, if i can get away with the stock bolts, then just check them later. i havent bought a midpipe yet. i had an o/r X pipe that went to the stock manifolds but it sounded wimpy. i hope that with the mid pipe, that the LT's with the flowmasters will soound good and be louder. which pipe sounds the best with flowmaster? H, X, or straight pipe. oh yeah, and with one header one and 4 out of 8 bolts on the other one. may next question is. what order do i reassemble the k member/steering/ and suspension

it's all personal opinion on sound but you definitely have to reassemble the k member first, then do all the other little things like steering rack and starter.

i didn't have to take out any suspension parts :dunno:

i don't know how the hell you got them in there without taking the starter out. did you drop it in from the top? that's the only thing I can think of. Or maybe it's just the brand difference :dunno: I had to take the starter out to tighten the bottom back pass. two bolts. and get them in.

I didnt do them lol...

I had mac long tubes, 3.73s, 75 mm tb, plenum, pi intake, o/r H, and a tune basically.

I would say with 4.10s, pi intake, long tubes, o/r h, tuned you could go high 13s.
