lol, alright...just saying, the OP already said he was trying to spend like 3k at the most.

You got a nice kit but you can do a vortech with a used head unit pieced together for half that.

Procharger sucks.

You can buy a brand new v3 vortech kit for 2900

http://www.superchargersonline.com/...506_1105_1106_1180_1349_1351&products_id=6796

Just would have to piece together the injectors, fuel pump, and tune which could be done easily for less than 1k.
I like procharger over vortech for the main reason of a self-contained oiling system. My buddy was looking at a vortech charged 96 gt, the thing was leaking oil everywhere, mainly from the plumbing line to the oil pan and stank of coolant. Not saying all of them do, but don't you need to relocate the battery too for their "aftercooler" system? I don't feel like cutting into my taillights for a cut off switch for the battery lol. I've looked at both and decided on procharger over vortech, dunno how much different it is 2v vs 4v kits, but all the mach guys I've talked with highly recommend the procharger over anything else, the kenne bell kit is just WAY overpriced at something like $6.5k for my car.

Keyword you are using is "Used".

You are pretty much buying ghetto stuff to save money. I have been there, done that....

My Kenne Bell Kit and All my Extras I Bought BRAND NEW. Brand SPANKIN NEW..... With warranty and all.

So when you compare my set up and the purchase I made for the money I spent, you need to compare it to buying brand new everything. Look at my build thread. Crazy how i bought everything new lol. Its like the one thing in life I went 112% on purchasing the best stuff for that thing.

Ok, with that said you can buy literally the entire kit new off superchargersonline NEW and buy a used head unit and save like 1500 dollars.

If you really want you can sent it back to vortech and they will rebuild it with new seals and bearings for like 300 bucks.

The new vortech v3 is self containted.

You dont need to use the votech aftercooler system.

My beef with procharger is the brackets suck and I had nothing but problems with ripping belts everytime I drove the car.

Yes, heed Ferocious' advice and don't argue.

I prefer N/a power, but there is no question the cheap way of doing it is boost.

Exactly. It's a forum, isn't that what this place is here for lol.

And I hear you on the bracket thing, Guys with 04 machs have it rough, the procharger bracket was made to fit 03s like my car perfectly, so I'm good, but 04 owners have to shave some sh*t to make it fit properly, stupid design flaw imo. I spent WAY too many hours researching centri. vs. postive displacement and picked up a lot of info while doing that. Obviously, I'm going for centri as I don't street race or "fool around" on the street, and getting into boost lots hurts mileage, ask any ecoboost owner haha.

You guys took my thread out of context.
How can i come to a decision if all you guys do is argue back and forth bashing at whatever motor works best with what..?

I just wanted to know how to reach 280rwhp, tis all...

I appreciate all the useful info alot of you guys have posted and i'll use it when it comes time to buy the parts to throw on, but all the videos and proving each other wrong is unnecessary.

This thread is full of win, im actually learning alot about s/c and n/a in this thread, I was thinking the on3 turbo kit for my car but the vortech "bargain" kit seems like a good way to make cheap power too.

My overall thought on the matter is most people will be happy with the power they will make from a vortech kit on a stock motor.

Building an na motor requires a lot of skill, time, tools, and money which most people dont have.

The vortech kit is very cheap and is very simple.

If someone were to bring me a vortech v3 kit I would bet that I could have it on the car and running in less than 2 hours with nothing more than a few simple hand tools.

I couldn't agree with you more, for example mine is around 280 RWHP and its plenty for a Daily Driver but i would be more then happy with a vortech kit as it sits with 8-9 Psi, But Hell a stock Gt is enough for most people to but for the majority of us thats not the case lol.

yea...I mean a stock 99-04 GT with a vortech and a stock pulley will make about 8 psi in cold air and around 360 rwhp.

That is more than enough for most people.

NPI cars with a pi intake would still probably make around 320-330 rwhp I would imagine.
