I did a search on the Forum and came up with a thread from 2017. Anticipated advice therein, but that was 4 years ago. So, thought I’d ask again in case there’s any further information or products out there I should be aware of and/or take into consideration.
Thoughts? Opinions?
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you've narrowed your slow/hard start down to the starter then?

I purchased one last year from pa performance. I see they are now 150 but last year I bought a returned one for $79 including shipping. Seems well built and was plug and play.

SVE mini starter has worked great for me on my Turbo Mustang.

Stock starter hasn't crapped out on Dirty Money yet but I will probably get a parts store replacement if it does, as those are pretty much up to the task.

Truthfully, a lot of OEM components (new or reconditioned) do really well even in modified applications. (ex: plug wires, ignition coil, 8.8 diff bushings, distributor, steering rack, etc...)

That’s funny, I was looking at both the PA and the SVE.
Hmmm…. decisions, decisions!

Gonna be a PITA to R&R. Damn K-member support is right in the way.

Checked: not long tubes. Headers end just shy of the bell housing

Papa,
Is your motor stock, or a higher compression? I need a starter that’ll turn over my 347 stroker.

My previous project car, a ‘64 Chevy II, had a PowerMaster starter. Worked nicely on a 350 with top end (AFR heads, dual plane intake manifold, EFI)

What gear ratio should I look for with the 347? I’m also hoping I have a standard tooth flywheel (got a new, steel flywheel with the McCloud clutch same time as engine rebuild)

Totally unrelated, but my first car was a '65 Chevy II. Wish I still had it. Got it when I turned 15 in 1990. Traded a rifle and a 4-wheeler for it as a roller.

Sold it couple years ago to a local guy. Took this pic short time ago when I scoped it outside his workplace (also my favorite brewery) where he’s the Master Brewer. He did the plate. Only pic I have left of it. Wah-waaaaah! And yes, it’s a 4-door. Can’t hardly find a 2-door let alone an affordable one here in Cali.
