car missing driving normally

My car at idle runs fine but started missing after i got off the freeway. I was coming back from lunch and was about to miss my exit so i got on the throttle to catch my.exit. Once i got off i noticed it started missing. Once i got to the light it stopped but when i tool off it started missing again. Whats going on? I got no cel on either.

chances are it's the coil or the dizzy. I'd look into the coil first though.

did your plug wires wiggle loose? i had the same problem as you and my wires were loose. one was pretty much completely off the plug.

I'll double check but I don't think they were loose. I got a hot date tonight and would be VERY embarrassing if it misfires on me. Mustang's are her favorite car so it's do or die!

if it has a distributor (94/95) take off the cap and check the contact points.

If she's a mustang lover, and you really wanna get her going, find out what the problem is and don't fix it till after you pick her up and look like a bad ass while you save the day and fix your car!!

Date went great car ran fine but i noticed it misfires when it warms up. Like i said i think its related to the fuel smell under the.hood.

Missing when it warm up is a common sympton of the dizzy heading south. Same with the coil too. You can do some testing first though. A coil is fairly cheap and is probably due for replacement anyway.
What is this fuel smell you have now. If you don't have a leak under the hood or back at the tank then most likely the charcol canister is full and is ready for replacement too.

No fuel leaking im betting its the canister. Im almost 90% positive how can i check it? Im just going to replace my coils

I got no idea how to ck the canister. you only have 1 coil on you 95.

crap! sorry about leading you down the wrong road then. Nothing I suggested applies to you. I assumed your screen name ment you had a 95.
I would think you could ck for codes. you may have one set without having the CEL being on. Could be still ba a coil pack but a code ck should be able to tell you that.
