Re: Dafizucks street machince (hopefully) buildup

Finally got some updated pics, (http://sn95forums.com/index.php?topic=31687.0). Wanted to give an updated mod list.
Exterior: CF emblems, trunk garnish, and hood, frpp hood pins. 17x9 and 18x10 black fr500s, shorty antenna, clear headlights, cobra corners, amber fog lights, mach 1 lip, quarter window louvers, spoiler delete, and windows tinted, painted pony red, sequential tail lights, black bumper inserts, 8000k HIDs.
Interior: center bezels painted silver, rear seat delete, blue led mod, mach 1 shift knob
Brakes: front cobra kit, need to paint rears red
Suspension: cobra front lower control arms, mm cc plates, frpp c springs, front sway bar energy suspension bushings, energy isos, strange 10 ways, mm aluminum steering rack bushings, IRS swap will be going in next month.
Engine and exhaust: SLP LM1 custom side exhaust (will be stock cobra irs exhaust with or h when I install the IRS). PI swap still needing to go in.

I may be leaving a couple parts out, but that is about where I am at. i am not going to do too much else to the car other than listed, but its a fun car for me. Thanks for lookin.

I was riding like handz with sportlines no isos up front for a while...its kind of bumpy, but the sexiness of it is worth it IMO.

I need to take out the damn polyeurothane isos I put in after winter.

My front is sittin up all high and shit now

Re: Dafizucks street machince (hopefully) buildup

Finally decided to update this thread... been real busy on the car. Motor is out of the car waiting for the PI heads and Bullitt IM. I have stripped it down to the heads, almost ready to get the biatch back together.

Heads

While I have all this stuff out I am painting the valve covers black with red stripes. I started to paint today, but was havin an issue with the paint sticking so I am redoing tomorrow.

I also got busy in the transmission. Replaced alot... new pivot stud, clutch fork, throw out bearing, and pilot bearing. I also have a ford racing billet steel flywheel that will accept my 11" 03-04 oem cobra clutch. I had a king cobra clutch, but when I was about to put it on I noticed a chunk missing, so I got the cobra clutch.

Pulled the timing cover off today... and 11 years with probably no engine cleaning, needless to say it was filthy, but I took a pic of how it looks after 45 minutes of cleaning.

Not too shabby

Engine and all the parts in my trunk...

I also did an IRS swap about 3 months ago. I drove to vegas from SD at 6 in the morning, did the swap from 12-8, then drove home. Crazy day. I am installing stage 8 bolts to be at ease...

You all know what this means

I also have a couple things going on the exterior to complete the beast. I will keep updating throughout this week and next.

I've done my valve covers, and can give you some helpfull feedback.

before you paint them, you want to spray down a coat of Adhesion promoter.
Then do your paint, and do not use regular or wheel clear! or paint for that matter.

The Modulars get hot, my clear went yellow, so keep that in mind.
you definately want to use high temp paint on these.

Snazzy shoes in that last pic!!

Looking good so far, you've got some good work ahead!

Do I need to clear?? I dont really need glossy, but I can if I need to protect it. Can I use regular adhesion promoter, or is there a special engine primer I need to use? Thanks for the help.

Re: Dafizucks buildup update 3/10/09

ok, you'll want to strip them down, scuff them up and spray it with this adhesion promoter. it's good stuff.

You can see the other paints I used. on the left is the high temp blue - good.
on the right the wheel clear - BAD ON MOTORS,

I put 5-6 coats on my covers, then coated it with this clear. it looked awsome!! until I ran the car hard a few times, then it went yellow.
I wouldn't use a clear unless it's high temp, and even then I've heard of the clears going yellow, so it's up to you.
