MIght I suggest the only other thing you need to do is make sure you have plenty of ice cold corona's in the fridge. They come in handy after all the welding. :dancing6:
True that, I try to keep my drink fridge stocked!

I got the rear suspension for this thing!

I was at ford talking with my buddy that works there, and found out the parts guy there just put a solid axle on his cobra...
Soooow, I asked him about it and it's exactly what I'm looking for.
IRS off an 01 cobra, new axles for an 03 (31 spline) and a 373 ring.
it's in town here and only cost me 400 bucks!
So I'm stoked about that.

Should ride really well since this will be mainly street driven, and there's so many gutters and bumps here in the mountains...
I'm gonna throw on the MM bushing kit and rear coil overs to go with the front.

The fastbacks been sitting since I started on my 281 motor...

Thanks to all for the info and posative feedback!

Sounds like a hell of a deal! Congrats. If it doesn't fit the fastback you could still put it on your SN95!

Everything looks great, youre coming along nicely. I wanted to ask you thought, why did you go with a cleveland motor? Was it because of finances being short? I at once time was gonna build a 351 in a 67 Comet that i owned. But parts seemed a little hard to find. Just wondering. I would build it just for the sold fact that no1 else build them (since they are the red headed step child of ford)... Just wondering

Thanks man,
The cleveland I got for a few reasons. It's a hard running, strong motor, it's not very common, and I like the Nastalga of having it in a "classic" muscle car.. It was more expensive to rebuild than a 302 (obviously) but it will pull hard and sound BAD ASS! I did alot of stuff to the heads, which will be key to the power it will put down.

Another thing is- I wanted a motor in that car that's not computer controlled. No fuel injection and all that stuff. There's enough of that on my other cars. Just bad ass, clean streat rod.

It was also the first motor that I totally rebuilt myself. I payed for the assembly, but did the rest, including porting the heads, and polishing the intake manifold. I got hooked up on the headparts and rotating parts too, so that was nice.
It was a fun project.

Thanks 97GTconv,
Shwing!

Interior, we're going to do a custom dash, and new everything, right now I'm focusing on the sheetmetal & suspension..

We're thinking of a dark metalic silver, probably with wide shelby stripes too.

Thanks outlaw, we're making slow progress.
I'm excited to get that rear end on, get some wheels/tires, and have it a rolling chassis.

Thanks Bonestock - I like the Bullit look, but want something custom. Not to radical, keeps the stock lines.
I'm sure it will evolve as we get into the body work.

Found this IRS here locally :dancing6: :dancing6:
It's just what I was looking for!

Came out of an 01 cobra with 10K miles on it. got the '03 31-spline shafts at half of cost from a ford overstock.
even has a 373 ring in it!!

Winter project, after my 96 is back together. :police:

hmmm you have your own lift in your garage, a 96 project and a 67 project. Lucky bastard. That supercharged 351 cleveland will be fucking awesome. That is one motor i would put in a stang if i ever did a buildup of an early stang. That thing will fly.

Thanks Meangreen,
that motor should fly, and sound bad ass!

Kinda wierd how both projects came together at the same time.
The 67 is a project my dad and I are doing together.

the 96 I've wanted to do this to for years.
Money and things just came together :dunno:
