I have a few questions about that paint job. How's the paint driving on city roads and rocky roads, do you get chips easily? I have been wanting to paint it like that for a while and saw your car and think it would turn out bitch. I am just skeptical because I would figure the paint would chip easier without a clear coat and because its my DD.

Not usually a fan of murdered out cars, simply because they are played like crazy, but I actually dig that. Nice time attack touch on the wheels

I was thinking about taking my side "scoop" out and just making it flush like a Bullitt style one. The only reason to hesitate for me is because it's "functional" which has a bit of cool factor to it.

I am curious though... Is this a rattle can job? I remember you saying that it was John Deere tractor paint, but I haven't found it anywhere (I haven't really looked very hard) so I don't know what it comes in. I want to try this at least before I paint mine DSG. :coolsmiley:

Um the paint is not a rattle can job, i used a HVLP gun and compressor just like a normal paint job and the paint comes in gallons just like regular paint you need to get the thinner as well. For a gallon its like 27 bucks and the thinner is like 8 or 9 dollars really cheap, you can get it from john Deere suppliers etc.

Well its kinda tricky with the paint, it holds up really well against rock chips etc just like a normal paint job, but what is cool is you can also buy the paint in a rattle can for touch ups like i do it blends really well. The only problem that i am having is if you spray it wrong than you might see some zebra striping and with a normal paint job you can wet sand it out, but with a single stage flat if you wet sand it, it will turn shiny on you. But i think its worth it, different looking kinda throw back to old rat rods etc.... plus it looks just plain cool on our cars. When i get my hood i am going to be respraying it because i can see some imperfection in the paint that i did when i painted it the first time, but i like to do stuff like this so its no biggy for me.
