Apparently they are adjustable HIDs so you dont get the glare. Thought someone on here might be intrested as so many of you run HIDs in the stock halogen housing
rolleyes
Anyone heard of them?
Many countries are considering forbidden the HID car headlight. How comes a new technology which is supposed to provide a safety drive condition by 3 time luminance brightness and lifetime of the bulb will ends up in this situation?
Because the people has improperly installed the HID lamp and ignored the law on road traffic safety, which cause a serious glaring and light pollution. Glaring is very dangerous for oncoming car and driver itself, especially from the HID light since scientific study of headlamp glare has shown that for any given intensity level, the light from HID headlamps is 40% more glaring than the light from tungsten-halogen headlamps.
All the countries has its own law on road traffic safety, but when it comes to the headlight it mostly the same. In U.S, Vehicles equipped with HID headlamps are required by ECE regulation 48, and many European countries has a similar legislation, which the cut off light line cannot higher than the height from centre of the lamp to the floor in 25ft or 10m.
Since the HID light source is differ than halogen, simply install the HID in the halogen reflector will definitely caused a extensiveness glaring. Actually a experienced mechanic can help you low the glaring level by adjust the lamp position in the reflector but it takes hours; further, since the lamp and base are fixed, hence that is no way to find the best position of the reflector if the lamp cannot move forward or backward.
That is why DOOP has decided to increase the investment on R&D department to solve this issue. Finally in 2009, we have successfully developed a new product to supply a gap on the market, “FOCUS EYE†HID with remarkable glare-free function. We believe that the market will set up a new standard for HID and remain people the importance of keeping the headlight in safe standard as law required by our new technology.
