those turned out awesome . The 94/95 lights don’t age as well as the 96-98’s so when they’re freshly restored damn do they look nice .

Agreed and I’ve been looking for a clean set for ten years now. I bought a pair off fb years ago for like $25 and they were mint…opened the box and the corner had busted off the passenger side of course. So I wound up donating them to a friend and went back on the hunt til this car landed at the wrecking yard.

I decided a few weeks back that I've finally done enough with my red truck and it was time to get back to the car.

I started off by buying oil pressure and 1 bar MAP sensors from Low Doller Motorsports. After getting them installed I got in contact with Danny at MFKustoms to see about getting them set up which led to him needing to update everything for me first. During that process we realized that my voltage had dropped pretty low and I wouldn't be able to fire the car up until it was charged. The next day, threw a hot battery in and fired it right up. So I moved it to the other bay in my shop and let it idle for a few seconds until it randomly died then would not crank back up. The fuel pump had lost power. Long story short I sent my wiring harness adapter back in to Danny for testing and sure enough a fuel pump driver had went bad. During the time I had the wiring disconnected I took the opportunity to put the car on the lift and address a few issues I had been putting off so fixed some small leaks mostly coolant, and got my exhaust fitted up nicely. Also had some shifting issues, wound up pulling the trans out to inspect everything and found a broken bolt holding the pressure plate to the flywheel. So now, I have finally fixed all the little issues I've seen so far and have been driving it any chance I get.

On Thursday night I went to town to get some food and fill up with gas. Saturday I made some short trips and went back to town for gas before heading home and had been 90 miles and consumed 5 gallons of gas which was a nice surprise to see that kind of mileage. So far I probably have 150+ miles on it and so everything is going good. I have a couple of pictures I can add in here but mostly haven't taken any when I'm out driving. Just living in the moment and enjoying the car lol.

When your car sits up so long it blows chicken bones out of the mufflers the next time you fire it up

SVE radiator was leaking, got that warrantied and replaced. IMG_8398.jpeg

Started on getting both of the mufflers even with each other. I think they came out pretty close. The car is low as shit but so far I’ve only made contact in one place on a transition in a parking lot. I have just under 2.5” clearance at the lowest spot on the primaries and just above 2.”5 all along the x pipe and mufflers. I have most of the roads around here memorized pretty well but still been playing it safe.

I did raise my coilovers up 3.5 turns on each side too. I wouldn’t mind bringing the front up a hair more but the back is kinda stuck where it is unless I throw some isolaters back in.

I finally changed the oil last Monday and have put about 600 miles on the clock. Been tinkering with some small things as I’ve been putting more miles on too. I extended my air piping down into the bumper, and with the splash shields on everything fits nicely. On a side note, does anyone think this filter is too much? I had a lot smaller cone filter before but had no access to it with the shields on like I do this setup.

I’ll add another pic of it with the liners on later.

Didn’t take any pics of these before they were painted but you know how old plastic looks. These had no cracks or anything.

IMG_8531.jpeg

Dirty car, I can’t get to town without going down gravel somewhere so it stays dusty more than I like.

Engine bay is gonna need a good cleaning. I’ve been installing this MSD 6AL2 box this week. I wanted it somewhere that it could be quickly and easily removed if something comes up vs trying to hide it all inside the car somewhere. Hopefully heat won’t be too bad on it there but we’ll see. I still have to hook up the tach output and 2 step activation wires.

A couple shots of the fender liners installed on the driver side.

Bonus pic going to get some food truck goodness.

Looking good.
The filter is fine..you actually want a large filter to grab the air. The bigger the better.
I would move the mess away from the header or put some type of heat shield on it. They hate heat. You could move it forward on the apron that's where I had mine before I moved it inside the cabin.

I would also recommend if possible that you keep it away from any power wires as best as you can, or the fusebox. The MSD boxes make great noisemakers/audible tachometers if you get the ignition noise into the electrical system and you will hear the motor through your stereo as a buzz that changes pitch with the rpms.

@95opal or anyone who might know, where did you land the grey tach output wire from your MSD box? Is it necessary for it to function or is it just for an accessory like aftermarket tach or shift light?

Adding this pic to show my current filter location. This worked out pretty good considering it was thrown together with spare parts, and there were no fitment issues when I put the new fender liners in.

IMG_8544.jpeg

I was loaned this momentary switch from a neighbor so I could test my 2-step out. Everything works as it should and the switch setup can be tucked away nicely under the ash tray door for stealth purposes.

IMG_8583.jpeg

I mentioned that this switch was temporary, it works great but after finding some YouTube videos I purchased a different type of switch and will try my hand at fabbing a bracket for a clutch fork operated 2-step activation. I got this coming from Amazon for $20.

IMG_8542.png

After confirming everything functioned correctly in the shop, I went down the road to try it out at like 1800rpm or something and as soon as I took off heard a pop followed by an exhaust leak. Panicked for a millisecond then remembered I had been having trouble keeping the EGR cap on my headers tight. The cheap aluminum cap was expanding once it got hot and blew off. I eased the car back into the shop and to my surprise found the cap still under the hood.

IMG_8584.jpeg

So with a car show coming up in a couple days I was set on attending and knowing the aluminum cap wasn’t gonna stay on I did what any of us would do and snagged a cap from the wrecking yard and stacked 5c worth of pennies under it to seal it off.

Spent Friday night cleaning and vacuuming etc to get this pig looking more presentable.

We had a small car show in town on Saturday so I met some friends and hung out there for the day. Don’t know the guy in the Grand National but it was a super clean car and just happened to park next to me. The F-150 belongs to my buddy and has already made its way into the 11’s recently.

Tuesday had an appointment to have my back glass redone and also had 50% on my windshield. The weather has been crappy since then so I have not taken any updated pictures with the new tint.

IMG_8626.jpeg

Currently I’m just waiting to start gathering parts for the next phase which will be a fuel system upgrade and also have a few small cosmetic changes I want to make. I will probably keep driving the car until after the holidays are over before I tear into it again and just wait until January to knock that project out then will hopefully be ready for a dyno tune.

Haven’t update this in a minute so here goes. After the last post I got a new mount for my 3.5” screen. Wish it was a little taller or stuck out a bit further from the dash but it works way better than when I had it mounted below the cluster.

IMG_8742.jpeg

IMG_8766.jpeg

Later on I bought a new set of 60# injectors from Donny B at Anderson and Josef sent me these adapters for them.

IMG_9154.jpeg

Bought a set of hood struts I’ve been putting off for ages, a new fuel pressure regulator, and an MM clutch pedal height adjuster to play around with.

IMG_9174.jpeg

IMG_9259.jpeg

Made a trip to the wrecking yard a while back and scored this aftermarket cobra bumper for $25. It was a little warped from the way it had been sitting but a few days in the sun straightened it out. Also has a small slit in it but looks easily fixable. Couldn’t pass for the price.

IMG_9243.jpeg

Car is currently on stands while I’m addressing a few things. I took the upper intake and whatnot apart to swap injectors and also make the move to my aeromotive rails I got from josef way back when I was first stock piling parts for the engine build. Now I have all the plumbing done from the rails to the regulator, I just need to go out today and grab a plug to block off one of the regulator ports and a longer piece of vacuum tube. Then I can throw the rest back together and leak check it all and move forward. For now I’m still running -6 supply and return under the hood and still have the stock hardlines from the tank to the engine bay. Next iteration will be a new pump and filter with -8 supply and a fresh -6 return from the regulator and get rid of the hard lines. I also have a slight oil leak from the low oil level sensor in the pan I need to fix and a battery draw that needs to be resolved. I’m gonna boogie down this week and try to get er done so that next Saturday I can cruise down to a buddy's car show about an hour away and then after that try to figure something out about tuning so I can make a pass before it gets to the hot part of the year.

Good to see ya moving forward. I'm confused when you mention tuning while I see the termiX screen sitting there. Is that just for monitoring things and not part of their tuning package?
