Thank you man! I hated the truck when I first started driving it but after seeing some cool builds on a few forums I fell back in love quick and have been ever since.Badass project. I've always wanted to do a build on one of those early 90s f150s.
If you've never driven one you'd be surprised at how stout they are. I've seen a couple builds where people have turbo'd them. One guy even turbo'd one that was still speed density and eventually converted it to mass air over the course of the project, I think it out down something close to 400whp which is crazy! The v8 swap I've been thinking of more and more here lately is a 5.4 4 valve out of a lincoln navigator that we found at a you-pull-it yard locally. Assuming they still have it the next weekend that there isn't a monsoon here we plan on going to get it. Atleast for now though I still plan on getting the 6 back together and driveable once again.Yeah, I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that the inline six can probably handle more power than the 302w block, too.
I think boosting that motor would carry a lot more cool points than a V8 swap, unless your V8 swap brings some serious big boy power.
A navi 5.4 would be awesome in that thing! I have seen a couple guys the did 2v 5.4 swaps in full size broncos and from what I understand, its a big time project. I would love to see you do it though.
Oh, I'm not trying to discourage you from a V8 swap, by any means. And I will eagerly tune in to updates on this truck/build to see the progress of whatever you choose to do.
I would just rather see you boost the straight six, rather than most any V8 swap.
