I can't seem to get to the top header bolts for the original h pipe. how did you guys get to them? The ones that connect the h pipe to the headers.

Once again, thanks. I've asked many questions on this forum and all the people have been great with answering them.

I did mine about a month ago and I soaked the nut with penetrating oil first then got a couple long extensions. It was pretty tough so position yourself where you can through some ass into it. :thumb:

An assortment of various extensions and a wobble should do the trick.

A bunch of extensions that have the wobble ends on them, a lot of cursing, and some muscle.

LOL you can get wobble extensions in there your car is not different then the rest of us. Stack the extensions and go from underneath. Dont give up they are a pain in the ass but you will get them.

Yeah extensions are the key i probably had a foot of extensions last time i was doing mine that and a wobble on the end and you can get to them. i usually try and put the socket on the nut then connect and extension to that then another one then connect the ratchet to it all and give it hell.

I found it easier when I removed the passanger side O2 sensor first, but then again, mine already has an aftermarket H-pipe and I'm not sure where the stocker positions the O2's. If you think it's tough on these cars, try a mod motor with 155k on it :wall:!

be careful with the wobble extensions, a universal adapter for impacts would be much better or uni socket

i pulled the stud out of the manifold when i took my h pipe off lol

before i even did my exhaust I went thru a whole can of pb blaster and wd40, for about a week and a half before lol

everything came off very smoothly, i've seen under a buddy's 94 and it looked like he had more room for the midpipe than me so I'm sure u can get it man :)

more extensions the better. get real comfortable, and watch for falling debris (surface rust).
keep at her, the bitch has got to get off eventually.

I got it off today, just didn't have the car jacked up enough to be able to see where to go through.

Now, i have another problem. With the offroad x pipe, the passenger side is flat on the connection to the headers. It doesn't seem that it fits on the pipe correctly with it being flat, unlike the other side.

it looks like this
