I bought the extra mains worth of arp straight from arp. Those are in the engine already. They made the main bores rounder and more in spec. Was shocked since I was expecting them to distort them more, making them more egged.

Correction... logistics have surprised me once again. Arp side bolts have arrived. I am impressed... the studs were scheduled for tomorrow and the side bolts were for Monday. And here they both are. Ups guy has been running nitromethane.

Nothing exciting this post as I spent yesterday being Paul Bunyan cutting down a 90 ft Norway maple with a hollow base in my front yard. But today I power washed and scrubbed red cars inner fender liners. Scuffed Them up and sprayed them satin black. Nice and pretty. When I get the car back next century I intend to do the rears as well.

I also tried spraying the spare tail light bezels gloss black but they turned out horrible. So I will need to resand and finish those. Have my new 3rd brake light and rear bumper reflectors ready to in as well. Oh and my new ebay tires came in. 265/35/18 lexani lxuhp-207s. 187 shipped to my door. Now I'm eyeballing up a set of the 285/35/18s for the rear. praying this thing get sprayed asap so I can just slam it all together and start cruising.

Well no progress with the car itself.. surprise!
Decided to take action on another front. Pulled the crank, added the main studs, re-measured the bores.. this is a point of contention. With the studs the bores were significantly rounder, only for whatever reason the oil clearance was larger to the median journal size we measured to originally. Makes NO sense.. according to ford they are in to out of spec. According to the rule of thumb of .001" clearance per every inch of bore. They're in spec. So they measured .0018-.0035. The more I check in spots on bearings the crazier I got. I have decided as a machinist in the centerless world, I am way to anal to be building engines. The bearing tolerances are hot garbage.. Anyway rant over. I decided I could be at this nit picking for an eternity so I would just send it.

Then went on to install the crank, measure crank end play. Was .007" excellent. Spins smooth with all if the ultraslick on the bearings. Next I torqued all of the rod bearing bolts. Measured the oil clearances.

All were in spec so I went to work installing pistons rings, while doing this i realized i had installed some rods backwards to the pistons... so i quickly rectified that. Wiped the bores out. Oiled them down and broke out the compressor.

This 3.552 bore taper compressor was by far the easiest part of the install. The pistons went in with little to no effort.



Lubed the rod caps torqued to 22 lb ft +90° rinse and repeat 9 more times and voila.

At this point the car is still dirty as fuck

Car finally received a full wash and I was able to clean out the interior. I got the new lexanis mounted and balanced. Changed an inner tie rod end and added the qa1 tapered bumpsteer kit. Car is at the alignment shop awaiting its alignment. I put the seals back in on the A pillars as well as the interior trim, the floor kick plates, knee plate and glove box. I also changed the rear 1/4 window top seals since those were shot. Also fixed an old sequential kit I used to have on my green car and it is now residing in red car with the appropriate flasher for halogens. Eventually I will do an led conversion. Still need to put in the air bag module or replace it since I broke the module side plug end accidentally pulling it out like a savage.

I will have a top put on it then I have to go back and align the doors a little bit better. Ie. Take the bumper and fenders off which were perfect and start over lol. The rear tops of the doors stick out slightly which appears to be causing all of the issues with window alignment. But the verdict is still out on it. I am waiting on an LMR order for a new hood latch cable since somehow the mounting bracket to the foot well on mine sheared in half so it hangs like a donkey d***. Prop rod clips since the rod wants to exit out the front of the hood when down. 1" hubcentric bolt on wheel spacers since the rear fr500s have some god awful sunken in offset. A new wheel speed sensor and speedo gear clip since my speedometer stopped working after my last adventure in there. And new door window inner and outer seals/outer 1/4 window seals. Figured I should just get it all done.

Okay, lol another long lapse in updates. Been busy. Had a few work trips and lots of great time tryubg to be a good parent and husband. Here is the latest update. Got the car back with the new twillfast cobrs top on it. I love it!!!
Replaced the outer and inner door window seals. The hood prop rod retaining clip. And added quad shocks and the 1" wheel spacers. Then realigned the doors and body panels
Replaced the license plate bulbs and pods with some cool LED ebay pods. Look great for 11$!!!
Installed the trunk liner


Anyone know if this keyhole gets a a rubber grommets?

The laser really pops in the sun. Which is interesting because sometimes it almost resembles rio.


I did a little more work. Glued the carpet straps to the bottom of the doors. Then I reinstalled the door panels/cups. Only problem is thr passenger window switch doesn't seem to be activating the window. I'll dig into that more another time.



Bought some more goodies. Picked up some kicker speakers and installed them front and rear. A skar 8" subeoofer tube and a small 2 channel skar amp and am amazon head unit with blue tooth.

Feeling out where to put this setup and how to strap snd mount everything down.

Pulled the radio and bezel and started digging through the wiring for the head unit swap.

According to the painter the German brand of paint he used is a 2 stage. According to a lot of other sources laser is a 3 stage. So.. perhaps ze Germans made it easier to apply and less prone to fading. Either WaY I love it!!!
