painting them body color is obnoxious enough, no need to be putting ford or mustang logos in them.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand because black on the dark green would just jump out screamin at ya....

Turn signals - huh interesting point..... I could add one of the ricer lights on the fender to make up for it! :) I had considered some lines over that part of the light to allow the light through. I think if I left the green thick enough and the lines thin enough, idunno?

Now the plasti-dip idea would be interesting to dip it and then paint it. Would I still be able to peel it off with the paint over it? If it is paintable it would probably be a good primet to prevent the light from getting through.

Use plasti-dip as a primer? That is an interesting thought. I would test that theory out on some scrap material but you might be on to something there.

i have some plexi and some rattle can paint that isn't too far off stock color that I will have to try it out on. Seems like it would be good to block the light out on as well. I am thinkin a few good thick coats of dip and then just a light coat of color and I am sure I can get the idea of if I like it er not. If I do I am going to have the spoiler painted shortly so I will just throw them in on that if its koo and the gang.

Non working headlights? and marker lights? is that what you want with this?

Or is it something you just pop on and off?

I dunno, seen it on race cars many times. But they put the covers on to cover the holes up.

This is what I'm picturing when you say this. Not saying it would look exactly like this but it would still give you the "feel" of these mid 90's covers.

Also I don't like the whole headlight cover thing because I've already done it. To me it just seems like a "dated" accessory.

Also reminds me of this guy. He used to live in my area and used to see it all the time. I tried to find one without the covers on but could only yield this one side shot.

Steve-o - Can't agree more that they are dated to say the least. But they are so dated that its been a long time since I have seen them and honestly the black/black in that pick looks 100% freakin killer IMO. What was old is new once again IMO as at this point a mustang with them on while its dated that car is unique when no one else has them.

that red/white/blue one I have been lookin at all morning as its in the new CJ's email.

I think the logo idea is past but I am going to need to put some lines or something in there for the turn signals to be safe. I think some thin lines inbetween thicker green lines would not be too bad but still allow light through...

I can't see the first pic.

I cant say that I would do it to my car but it could be cool and unique, at least they would be covers so if they looked bad you could take them off

I personally would hate having to put them on, take them off, put them on, take them off all the time if you can't drive at night with them.

I see what you're saying. Also I can't help but think "why not do it?" Worst case scenario is you don't like them, take them off and move on! The first pic was of those truck tailight covers, rehosted the photo for you on the bucket.

Yeah he def had a lot of money, and a huge mouth as well. From what I remember he was very arrogant and quite annoying. He was real big in the "street racing scene" so he wouldn't tell anyone about the thing (until his write -up in 5.0 & superfords). I used to always see him at this one cruise-in we had on sunday nights, blah blah blah is all I heard lol.

I agree about the idea if they look bad I can just take them off and resell them which is why I already bought a new/used set off of ebay. I will have to pick up a can of plasti-shit(never thought I would) to see if my idea of using it as a primer will work to test the color look.
