Well, this is what happens when some idiot in a volvo SUV pulls out right in front of you. slowed down to about 15mph when impact occured. front radiator support is bent bad, PS reservior is cracked, headlight panel is toast, headlights are gone(still have stock ones), AC condeser it crushed(but not leaking) airbags went off, but other than that not much. fenders arent bent, hood is probably salvageable.

i can get new airbags for $25/each at junkyard, airbag sensors for a couple bucks.

Now, insurance adjuster wont be out till at least monday with holiday and all. My question is, rebuild or let them total it?

if i install one of these is it a weld in or bolt it? http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustang-radiator-support-9496.html

thanks all

Wait until they give you the numbers. If they total it see how much they are going to give you to take the car and how much if they leave it with you. The Radiator support is a weld in.

Always sucks to go through that. It doesn't look terrible but you really need to give it a closer look.

Gonna be close... but the age is gonna work against you.

i figured if insurance offers me $3500 or more im gonna let them have it becasue the cost of repairing/having a rebuilt title/never being able to sell it it wouldnt be worth fixing

They usually will let you keep the car for
80% of what they will give you to take it. Pocket the money, part the car out and use the whole shooting match to put you in something better.

^^my last car that was totaled (2000 taurus) they offered me $3100, i could buy it back for $800. i let them have it because it had 310k miles

and i never thought of parting it out. i suppose if buy back is <500 i could make a few bucks that way

Don't let them yank your around on a pay out. It's cost of replacement for an equal car's market value... not some cheap low as dirt book number.
If they offer you a low ball number and tell you that's what it's worth, tell them to go buy one for you at that price.

Its going to be a total IMO. The rad support is a weld in. I did a complete rebuild on my old stang when I rearended an Impala. It might be worth it to just take the cash and buy a new one... after you take all your aftermarket parts with you of course.

Been on focusfanatics.com? Good SVT section in there, looks like they have their fair share of issues, though.

yup ive been lurking. they seem so have some issues, but all relatively simple. working on a 4 banger is soooo much easier(head-gasket = 5 hours or so, vs the weekend project for a v8), headers are a couple hour job, everything is just simple. and maybe autocross with it a lil bit.

im really just loving the fact that its almost as fast as my gt(about .8 - 1.0 secong greater 1/4 mile), and gets ~ 30mpg

they fit like crap. didnt even come close to lining up right. the adjusters it came with her horrible and caused them to wobble. but then again they were $95 for the pair on ebay.
