can anyone say how much of an improvement I will see going to 4:10 gears in the 1/4 mile.... With 3:27 an off road H-pipe and flowmasters I ran 16.028 @85mph... I can burn out like a MOFO but need mid range power does run consistant speed and time I am running 275/40/17 in the rear and stock in the front....

If you can get the tires to hook you should be in the high 14 to low 15 range. To correct your speedometer you will need a recalibrator such as a "SpeedCal". There is no gear that will correct for the 4:10's. That was the first mod I did and my times were in the mid 15's with horrid 60' times. I switched to 3:73's when I slapped on the KB.

Your more likely to spin the higher you go in gears b/c you get into the RPM's quicker but thats when better tires and suspension come into play

Did you notice a good improvement? I've been dying to get gears, I found a local set already in a rear-end, I have a 94 vert auto with basic boltons(intake, 70mm tb, cai, full exhaust, suspension)

Gears are the best bang for the buck 3.73, 4.10, 3.90's are huge improvements over anything stock considering most stock gears dont get higher then 3.27 unless your talking about very new models. Ive had 2.73, 3.27, 3.55, 3.73 and 4.10's. By far the 4.10's are my favorite. The first gear being useless is non sense, yes first is used quick but its not as some people make it out to be. Id even consider 4.30's if my combo required it.

By horrid I mean 2.4+ 60' times. There was no way the tires (Kumho Ecsta) would hook with the 4:10's

I like my 3:73s especially for a DD, if I had an auto then no doubt I'd throw the 4:10s or maybe even 4:30s in there

you still have to mount your MAF, the IAT sensor wont reach, the MAF wire harness wont reach. Plus it would look stupid
