Well I guess the 3.90s that are going in my car will be pretty interesting with a KB hahaha. It will probably be re-geared if a KB goes on.
@ Onyx - Man i love KBs. Looks nice on yours. I still cant decide which supercharger to choose. Do you recommend a KB for me ? My car is more a Weekend street Warrior and has the AODE with 4.10 rearend. The down low torque would be fun as hell in combo with the 4.10s but i rather put all to power to the street instead in making smoke lol
everything looks so small!
I feel the same way. I hate the look of a KB on the 5.0 (Sorry Ryan) but for some reason I'm still drawn to get one. But I know I'll have to wear a flame suit on here if I did, so many haters haha. It's all in what you want though.
I wasn't expecting so many responses that they like the KB on the 5.0, I figured the complete opposite responses would come.
Maybe I will consider a KB more then!
One quick question Oynx,
with a PD blower, stockish motor. and a 5 speed, what would you reccomend for a gear? I have 4.10s currently. Have myself a set of each 2.73, 3.15, and a 3.31. I was thinking a 3.55 would be ideal.
4.10 really is gonna be too much, I'm running 3.55s and find it plenty but I haven't seen any track time either. 3.31 or 3.55s should do you plenty and leave room for future growth.
Is Kenne Bell the only place to buy the supercharger kit?
the may issue of 5.0 has an article on the kenne bell that you might want to check out.
don't fear the gear. you may not have to re-gear it later on, depending on your plans, goals, where you make power, and most importantly, how tall of a tire you run.
BUT, my brother's SN is n/a with 300 hp. it has a 3:08 gear, and will spin up to third gear at the track. so don't puss out because you're worried about traction. a properly set up chassis (something my brother does not have!) is what you need to worry about for traction. a gear, from my minimal knowledge of drag racing, is chosen in conjunction with your power band and where you want to be at the end of the track (someone please correct this if I'm mistaken). for the street, none of this matters, you'll have fun with whatever gear you put in. chose what you think you'll like, and chances are, you will.
