I ran around without a kit for like two year's, RTV and no issues. BTW, the magazone test (for what that's worth) of the Livernois kit picked up 27 rwhp tuned,

That had to be on a F/I car right?

No, lol, it was N/A, and on the dyno at Livernois, which is kind of why i never bought one of their kit's. However, the dyno showed a weird dip untuned, and they did tune it out. I think it made like 15 untuned, I'd have to dig it out of the archive to be certain.

But that's why I added the disclaimer "for what it's worth" magazines are bad enough already, let the producer of the product run his own dyno test and you are bound to see a huge gain lol

I was hoping to get around 30 with the cam swap also..

you think your gonna get 60 whp with pi cams and pi intake?

no way....you would be lucky to get 40 whp combined....

with those 2 and a 93 octane tune I would say 30-40 whp.

untuned probably 30 whp.

Yea, pi intake is worth about 15 whp and cams another 10-15.

I dont think the livernois pi intake is worth any more than a normal pi intake.

yea,
30 total with both Cam and Intake is what I was thinking.
Which is a huge increase for the money.

The RTV method is fine but if you have the money and can;t have your car down for 24 hours while the RTV dries then order the Livernois kit...the kit is well done and the crossover is already drilled and tapped. Its a no hassle swap if you can afford the extra $$$$$$$

yeah i would say with the cam/intake swap and a tune you could see upwards of a 40rwhp gain.

40 would be deffiantly better.
Do you guys think I will have enough now with the cam and intake swap to tune the car, or wait for some more mods (which I have none in the works)
Thanks again everyone for the help!

maybe its a 98 thing. On the same dyno after i swapped the intake for the pi it lost 3 or 4 hp and then the o2 failed so i replaced them and then on the dyno again it picked up 6 rwhp over the npi intake. Maybe yall got dynojet numbers :rollinglaugh:

Exactly, 13-18 rwhp is the norm for the 100's who have done it. I know of 2 people who picked up less and even then how can you be sure the numbers are accurate unless it was a before and after swap on the same dyno on the same day.

yes, i would say most of us do have dyno jet numbers. Even a 6rwhp gain on a mustang dyno is poor. I would take your car to another tuner.

It was, the shop owner let me use his shop for the day so i wouldn't have to drive it back home... and we let it sit till about 6ish when they were about to close to let the sylicone dry some and then we ran it again... thats when the o2 failed and i went and got 2 more from advance... 140 dollars and then we ran it again. Maybe there's something in the computer since the 98's had revised tuning and more exaust side flow on the heads? who knows, maybe the 4v will be better lol

If I were in your position I would get the car a 93 octane tune...you should have perfect a/f ratio and pick up power from the 93 octane and timing advance.

Dont waste any money on bolts on...just save for something big like a blower.

You could get gears too if you dont have them.

Great!
Thanks I will look at getting the tune and Rap it up on performance mods till I get some cash for a blower.
I already got gears in it.
Thanks again
