My left turn signal sometimes blinks 2X fast

We’ve taken brand new bulbs out of the box and are bad. Try new bulbs before tearing the car apart

were they led by chance? If so you probably needed to flip them 180 degrees and then they would have worked.

None of mine ended up being LED. Also, since pulling and cleaning and running them in/out several times I have not had any more problems.
