Well, to make a long story short, my daily driver GT had a blown head gasket and a messed up auto trans. Then the hood flew up and did quite a bit of damage. So I took advantage of the down time to fix the drivetrain. So in with a complete PI motor out of a 01 GT and a T45 manual trans. So here are a couple pic of the progress:

I'm replacing a couple of gaskets, among other things.

All wired up. Don't mind the plug wires. I need to pick up some holders.

Here is the trans. It has my Cobra's old MGW and old shift knob. The Cobra got all new equipment. :eek:ccasion14:

Its really just a pain in the ass. My head is spinning trying to get everything done. It wouldn't be so bad if I did this one at a time, but I guess thats life. Its all I think about all day, and I can't sleep at night. I just wish they were done.....

looks like you've got some work ahead of you.
Sucks having the hood fly up.

2 questions pop up for me.

what is your "among other things" entail?

and have you seen the zip tie - plug wire trick?

The motor and trans are in the car. I need to fab a trans mount up. Its all wired up. I also need a clutch/brake pedal assembly.

The "among other things" are timing cover gaskets, valve cover gaskets, Timken throwout bearing, crank bolt... Just little things. I'm not going to modify the motor at all. I think I'm just fixing the car to sell it. I'm really just tired of messing with the thing. I just need a daily driver vehicle that doesn't require so much maintenance.

Whats this zip tie plug wire thing you speak of?

You go around all the wires with a thicker zip tie,
then go between them with a small one.
Like so:
