If you've removed the EGR/smog off your car, please post pics. I want to see how much it cleans up the engine bay. Also feel free to leave your $0.02 about how the removal went. Does removing this stuff throw a check engine light?

Im going to delete my egr on my 4.6.. but thats because I have long tubes and broke a piece. The install is cake, but I have heard a tune will may be necessary to turn of the egr function.

Removing the EGR throws a check engine light but not the smog stuff, the smog stuff cleans up the pass side engine bay a good amount.

egr is easy to remove. you will need a plate to block off where the egr went. you can make one or they sell them on ebay for about $10. the smog is also easy to remove. you can just put a bolt in your h or x pipe where it connects. also if you have stock headers you will need to cap off the tube that comes off of them. you can buy something from hardware store or if you have a welder put a bolt in there upside down with the head in there first, get one that fills it in well, then weld around the bolt and cut off threads with a saw. thats what i did. but then i ended up getting shorty headers. yes egr will throw out a cel, but i have heard of people tricking it into thinking its still on. i read that on this site somewhere. the only thing is that your computer thinks its on the whole time so you have to always run higher octane fuel. i guess it pulls timing but i am not sure. i just ignore the cel because i know why it is on. anymore questions feel free to ask.

I added the smog delete about 2-4 years ago. I don't have any cats or anything. It's not giving me any check engine lights! Don't have any pics of it, though!

I bought it from UPR though, this is it:

Didn't remove my EGR. I don't know what that is, but I know kinda where it is. My buddy with the 03 Cobra removed his. Sorry I am no more help!!

i am not sure if you can run a smaller belt without the smog pump or if you have to have a smog delete kit. i have the delete kit but if anybody knows and knows the belt size let me know

I took out my smog, it cleans up the engine bay alot with all the plumbing gone. I don't have any pics right now though. If you remove the EGR you will definately get a light unless you trick the system into thinking the curcuit is closed. I've seen connectors that people have on here and on ebay that do this.

Removing EGR is stupid. It reduces your fuel mileage, provides no performance benefit whatsoever, throws a CEL, and causes the car to run like shit.

well it does keep hot exhaust gas out of your intake manifold, that has to count for something. When the guy burned the chip for my car he disabled the EGR so right now it's just there to plug the holes lol.

it didn't reduce my fuel mileage. i get 23 on the highway and 18 city. no performance benefit but did clean up engine compartment, and my car runs the same with or without it. don't know what the hell your talkin about or i don't know who has been feeding you crap. also you can trick it to think it is still plugged in so you don't have a check engine light. or have it programmed

At WOT, the EGR doesn't allow exhaust gases back into the intake, so no, it doesn't count for anything.
