thats insane! i would never pay that much for that work. ive never seen a local place around this area (richmond) to charge so much. smh.

Stuff like this is the reason I do virtually everything myself. I'm dreading trying to find a place to mount tires on my rims without damaging them already. :confused1:

Were they busy? I was just talking to a local painter today who's been so busy, he's been quoting everything at ridiculous prices just to scare them off because he's got more than he can work on at the moment. Maybe not the best way to do business but he's had a couple people agree to the price and drop their cars off... guess you can do that with a good reputation haha.

Had mine welded in for $100 but that was over 15 years ago :) Wouldn't expect to pay more than $200 now.
